Chip shortage may be here for a couple more years. Expect to see 2023 Tacos with point/coil ignition and carburetors.

Those of you who are waiting on your 22 and have an allocation/agreement with your dealer already, how much have you discussed pricing/financing with them at the point?

Thats so nice of him....thats one of the funniest ways to rip someone off I have heard this year. I do however commend them for their effort. Nothing better than screwing someone by making them feel like you are doing them a favor...lol

I talked with a local dealer yesterday on their first 22 allocation. At least right now, they are sticking to the same across the board markup as they were doing for the remaining 21s.

Supply/demand may change that eventually, but I don't think it will happen overnight.

2-3% increase on the 21's for the 22's and with checking both years on the configurator it's a 200 dollar increase for 2022, pretty much the same.

same here. Msrp. Which in my case is $2,000 more than pre Covid prices as this is the amount Tacoma’s were always discounted. My trade is worth more, but subtract $2,000 from that “more” value and I still net a few grand.

So I guess the dealers must work with different information than what appears on the toyota.ca site? I've mentioned to a couple of sales people that lunar rock is replacing cement and their eyes glaze over. Does anyone know if this colour change is happening in Canada for 22?

Yes. It is. We spoke with our dealer just today and this was part of the conversation. He said cement is gone.

Lunar rock available on TRD sport and TRD off road.

Unfortunately while cement was available on off road and sport trims lunar rock if only available on the premium trims. Disappointing.

Quite surprising they are discontinuing cement. Seemed to be the most popular option in my locale.

Why would I buy a 2021, if the 2022s are in transit. Do the 2021s drop in price as soon as the 2022s are on the lot? Sure the 2021 is still new, but soon be last year's model, and technically worth less since it's a year old.

Current year vehicles are usually discounted shortly before or when next model year show up. Probably not going to happen this year with current shortages.

21s won't drop this year when the 22 show up, not in major markets anyway.

You would buy a 21 to get a truck sooner. Honestly, the number of 21s that aren't yet sold must be very small nationwide. Those last 21s in transit are probably mostly spoken for.

I put in my request back in July, I was told then it would be mid to the end of November… when I spoke to my salesman yesterday to confirm pricing he still told me that was the estimated delivery date but I’d take that with a grain of salt.
