2022 Tacoma Discussion (Canadian edition)

Wondering if there are enough Canucks looking for 22's to warrant a separate thread. I'm going to order in early 2022. Over the past 2 weeks I've met a couple friendly 21 owners that were more than happy to chat about their tacos. Coincidentally they both bought at Sherwood Park Toyota in Alberta.

I stopped in there on Thursday, talked to a salesman who claimed they sell the most Toyota trucks in Alberta. He said for every 10 Toyota trucks landing in Edmonton they will get 5. He also said no markup over MSRP. They will probably get my business.

How is everyone else making out on their purchase journey? Can't wait for the 22's to show up on the CA website.

 

I pre-ordered too late for a 2021 and I'm waiting to see what will be available in Canada for the 2022. If Toyota Canada ever updates its website.

Access cab will apparently be limited to TRD OR and only 4 colors. Lunar Rock could not even be available on the double cab unless it's a "premium" trim.

 

Seems we have fewer configurations than our brothers down South. Would have loved a manual OR DCSB. My wife can drive stick but was having a hard time selling the manual on her!

 

I’ve got an allocation secured on a lunar rock sport premium. Should be coming in late Nov. I haven’t experienced dealers here in Alberta asking over Msrp, but I have definitely seen some load up in stock trucks with lots of accessories to maximize their profits. Guess, I can’t blame them, but it sucks to a consumer right now. No great deals right now, but you should be able to at least get great service. Hasn’t been the case so far though lol, seems all the sales staff know I’m replaceable!

I was planning on getting the trail, but the value just isn’t there to me. The off road is a much better value, and cheaper. Those bronze rims are amazing though! Since I was no longer getting the trail I opted for the sport prem long box. If we could get the off road in a long box, like the states has, I would have gone for that.

 

Nothing available about 22 yet in lower mainland BC. Have put my deposit but waiting for dealer till they can actually build it.

 

Have had an order in with $500 deposit on a TRD OR AC 6M since Jul 8th. Has not been accepted as allocation yet. Salesman says it shows "pending". He also says he has prices but won't release them because "subject to change" by toyota.

I'm paying MSRP plus a TRD exhaust included.

He also said Access Cab def discontinued in SR and SR5 trim. Only available in OR auto or 6m. In 4 colours only.

We def get short end of stick in Canada.... and why the website is not updated yet? Seriously? Its mid October Toyota!!! C'mon!

Hahaha, you are not wrong, the confusion has been here for decades. But it means Canada here.

In Canada dealers aren't allowed to charge over MSRP, so that's nothing special there. Some try and get around it by adding tons of accessories as mentioned above or service/protection fees. Pretty easy to find a Toyota dealer in Edm or Cgy that will simply do just full price and nothing else on.

I'm hoping to order a Pro soon. Have reached out to a manager where I got my 2017, will see what happens. It's a crazy time. I don't mind paying full price since I just sold a 2.5 year old vehicle for more than I paid for it new. So biggest challenge will be finding a dealer that can actually get 1 allocated.

If you dig hard enough you can find prices as some dealers have started posting 2022 prices on their sites.

Good idea on a Canada thread. Would be nice to see how others are making out and how long it's taking on orders. I would change the CA to Canada in the title if you can to get more exposure to the thread.

 

I've got my order in for a 2022 TDR PRO 6M, dealer here in Ontario said the 6M are special order so it should come sooner than later but we will see

I think it was cochrane toyota was advertising prices for 2022 on kijji, last week.

 

Got prices from dealer today, OR 45000, ORP 48000, Trail 47000, official prices. First 2022 tacomas will arrive in early Nov.

 

Allocations are going to be key , honestly if your after a specific model check all dealers regularly for stock , just because a dealer takes a deposit doesn’t mean they will get that vehicle especially with the lack of inventory or reduced manufacturing. There’s a few big dealers in Alberta that have some less than stellar sales tactics…..
PRO Models will be very limited from what I’m hearing.

 

I have my name on a 2022 double cab Trd off road premium in lunar rock. There currently is not one being built and destined for my area (NS) I was told 4 months. It’s full msrp which is fine as the difference will be made up with the high value of 2005 trd off road.

No, just msrp, exclude everything else

 

I ordered a 2021 TRD OR Premium in army green, July 12th. I got no communication for 8 weeks so I put in another order last week at the dealership just north of me (Nanaimo).

We will see what happens. I put in for a secondary colour being lunar rock. Already bought the meso customs army green chrome delete though.

 

that line up with the 50k I was told with freight and pdi.
