Vanderhoof, the geographical centre of British Columbia! Not a very long drive from home, about 100km and then I headed about 75-80km south down a forest service road to a couple great little lakes. Saw tons of great offshoot trails too, as the area was hit with one of the biggest fires of the area in recent years - lots of trail/road work for firebreak and on-ground wildfire fighting. A couple look to have led down to some additional unnamed lakes.

Unfortunately, mild FSR driving was all I could do at the time. I'm mid-career switch and can't afford self-recovery gear at the moment (starving student status is real) so I didn't dare take a trail I didn't know, also didn't have anyone with me but I know the area is very well traveled on the main road as there are numerous backcountry "resorts" (mildly developed campsites on Provincial Park land - the only way you can develop on those areas as a private owner), and a few different hiking trails along the way.

First time taking the Tacoma out camping. Little man hasn't gone camping outside of a state park, so a rustic National Forest campground seemed appropriate. Just a quick, one night trip, since we have a lot to do this weekend. 40+ miles of forest roads and routes to get there. EVERYTHING was wet from recent rain. Normally I'm pretty good at fire starting. Never mind, little man downed 3 cold hotdogs and said he didn't want to go home, he wanted to stay. Dad wasn't so happy that he couldn't get a fire going, but little man loved it and wants to go again, so I guess it's a win

I just ordered one and this is exactly my plan. I only have the small/half cubby and will route the hot air duct in through the cubby. I'd rather have the heater outside the bed for several reasons and realize doing so will require me to connect the ducting from the heater each stop but that's a <60 second job. Will post pictures when I get to that part of my build--still getting wood work done

Is that Onion Creek for the first couple photos? Looks like a great trip! You got some gorgeous shots.

Thanks! Yes, it is Onion Creek. It’s a gorgeous spot, but my wife and I have nicknamed it “Hurricane Moab” as we’ve had strong winds 2 out of 3 times we’ve stayed there. lol

Oooh! Now that I think about it, it was super gusty when I was out there for 4th of July weekend too. Kept whipping the tarp we were using as an awning side wall around. Maybe cause it's so wide open? Good to know it wasn't really a one-off thing.

Just got back from 6 nights at various locations in the Eastern Sierra.

I didn’t manage to capture it but the aspens and colors are off the chain right now and we were there for first snow. The mountains were bare on our way down and dusted/capped on the way home. It was magical.

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Rola rack. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
Camping and trail riding with fellow Tacoma World members a couple of weeks back. Rode the northern most section of the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail starting at Point Detour on Lake Superior.
The fall colors were is full effect and it was a most excellent trip.DJI_0008.jpgDJI_0032.jpgDSCF2603.jpgDSCF2615.jpgDSCF2617.jpgDSCF2715.jpgDSCF2722.jpgDSCF2773.jpg

My first real road trip to go camping in my Tacoma. Was hoping to have my ARE MX installed by now but we are going on month 5 and still not here. So I had to go with the tent.

    Big Bear, CA. Serrano campground.

Went off roading on some easy fire roads with a few minor surprises that were harder than expected. Truck managed everything well even in stock form. Put it in 4Hi and 4lo in a few sections only of which I think one was needed, but wanted to test it out.

    variety of pics…
