Just stopped for dinner and gas. Did the math and I'm averaging 11 mpg with the load in the bed... along with doing 80-90 on the highway most of the way.

Well I actually finished up this evening.

I found a 4 pack of LED rock lights at Wal-Mart for $7. Bought a water resistant switch from Lowes for $5. I already had a water proof fuse holder. So I have $12 in this.

The switch is mounted in it's place...but only temporarily.

I have one of these on order to make it official.

    Thanks buddy.

Yeah mounting them there allows enough space to get a nut and bolt on the back side....although kinda tricky still.

    Hell yeah.

I have 2 rock lights left over. Not sure what I'm going to do with them. Might put one in the trunk of my wife's car. I replaced the pitiful incandescent bulb with a much brighter LED bulb. That helped. But one of those would really light it up.

No. I used the hardware that came with them, which included washers....but not lock washers. The lamps sit on a rubber pad. So I don't think they'll get a lot of vibration that would cause the nuts to loosen. I'll keep an eye on them though
