A coworker had a 2007 Camry with the 2.4L and rare 5-speed millennial anti-theft device; It was mint, but it had like 230K miles and was using excessive amounts of oil. He traded it for used 2018ish Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2020; I don't know if the Camry was out of the recall period or what, but I believe he'll end up having more trouble with the Jeep as the miles go up than he ever did with the Camry...

 

When every someone starts farting uncontrollably, they always blame it on someone else's cooking! I myself am guilty of this...

 

Maybe engine not hot enough? Check for gasses when you get to work? Just a thought

I say pour it to it (oil that is)

Eventually, maybe, one day. You’ll will foul the A/F, O2, or cats.
But in this case, it doesn’t matter what you do. To fix it, isn’t “cheap”.

Some times the best fix is “leaving it alone”.
I’ve seen some engines consum 1qt of oil in 1,500 miles.
Then, the same engine would only use 1qt in 5,000 miles.
(It was a 2004 Ram 1500 w/5.7 engine - if that matters)

I say- Fill it up, run it, and eye an eye on it.

BTW, good job on doing regular checks.
I’m convinced the heaviest metal on earth, is the metal they use to make dip sticks.
Because ain’t too many people can lift them. (Including me at times)

 

It sounds like your dipstick is too short. Nothing to be ashamed of. A 6 inch lift and some 35s should clear it up.

 

If I get 200K out of this truck before something happens that makes me decide to replace the engine, I'll be happy; My truck is getting a new frame before the end of the year, so that'll make it even more of a new truck!
