It's the Evans Fischer step bumper from Amazon. It came powder coat black, but had it painted to match.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009DJOJVA?_encoding=UTF8

I reused all the supports and plastic pieces. Only issue was for the three little plastic screw things in the center of the middle plastic piece. The holes in the bumper were too big, but happened to find some small black nuts and bolts in my scrap bin that fit.

Removed my front skids to remove my sway bar. After a test drive I didn't notice enough roll to justify replacing it. I'll drive it for a couple days and if I like it, reinstall my skids and bury the sway bar. Also swapped in my temporary air cleaner while I clean and oil my reusable.

I want the color matched grille sooooo bad on my Off Road. It is in my cart for $173 with free shipping but I need to get my lost-clear coat hood painted which is/should be a higher priority before winter weather creeps in. I also am undecided and have 2 sets of headlights in the cart (Sport and regular). Those 3 things will bring my 2008 back actually looking like the 83k mile truck that it is. Still runs and drives as good as my 25k mile 2016 Sport (except the 2016 was level with 4 x new Billie 5100's for a hair better ride).

Badge question. Since my truck is a 2008 will fish lining the badges, maybe with some low heat gun action, be wise. I did it on my 2016 but they were only 18 months old. I just don't want to cause any paint issues. The side paint is good except for some age appropriate scratches.
I did put a bypass style transmission cooler on the 12 SR5 today. This way the tranny gets up to temp before going through the cooler. Son wants to tow with it and, with 145k miles, I figure it's a good time to eliminate the strawberry milkshake ingredients from the radiator. Completely eliminating the radiator tranny cooler. Has a 6k hitch so I told him limit his towing to 5k. Getting a tranny drain and fill next week too.

If you get coilovers with compression adjusters you can almost completely remove the body roll

I don't know if I did this or the truck did. Maybe we did it together. But this happened this evening. I bought it in Feb 2011 with 33 miles on the odometer. Quarter million miles later, here we are.

Also, lost a mud flap last weekend somewhere on a dirt road in western Kansas. So I guess my Tacoma gets new mudflaps for its 250K.

I removed mine since I have an RC lift (I know I know…. I’m budget building) and it made it a lot more comfy to drive since the RC lifts are so dang stiff!

Bed of the truck is naked and awaiting it’s next change up. I will say it’s nice to be able to see out of the rear window for a change. Icon rxt leaf pack should be here next week so I can trash these Dakar’s along with bring the rear down some.

Today I also matched the rear quick disconnect air fitting to the front. This is going to be very convenient after the trail.

Was delayed by a bit of a SNAFU this morning after breaking camp. Spent half the day chasing down the rattle and driving 80 miles out of the way to Moab for a bolt…:anonymous:

After we got that sorted out, wife and I did Top of the World trail. Took about three hours to run it, got back to camp just before sunset. Lots of slider and skid action on this trail, as we opted for the full lollipop loop, taking the more difficult left route on the way down.

Awesome trail and the view was amazing.

You should be fine. Depending on the weather, I would try to leave it in the sun for a bit before you try the heat gun. To be safe.

If forced to use the heat gun, start with low temp then build up. Since the truck is a little older, you might come across something like this:

    20200707_151454.jpg

I use paint safe googone and a microfiber. Then buff it real well with a good compound to rid out the tan lines.
