I had dealership install a 3/1 pro comp nitro spacer lift and I am hearing a weird noise from front/rear going over speed bumps. I think the sway bar might be hitting coil the few pics are the clearance I have it’s not even enough space to fit a finger. Should I get a sway bar relocate kit? 76E3F6C2-B338-4C34-B516-6AD25BAB7B2D.jpg 1A5D7049-5E04-432C-A37E-C5C27E41114F.jpg

Google “Tacoma sway bar drop bracket kit.”

If that is indeed the issue, this will make it go away. However you commented that it may be in the rear, and frankly it could be many other things…..I’m not familiar with that particular lift.

Not helpful I know, but I'm surprised your Toyota dealer installed an aftermarket lift. My service department won't install any aftermarket parts/accessories.

It’s more likely that your uca’s are contacting the coils and rear shocks are topping out if still on stock shocks.

Check the torque of every bolt that could have been touched. You can use any marking agent - sharpie, chalk, grease, etc. to check for rubbing/contact between components - it will rub off quickly where there is contact.

If you paid someone to install it though, I'd start with them. They should offer at least cursory diagnostics if you can reproduce the noise.

so if I replace rear shocks with bilstein 5100’s do you think that might solve the rear end issues? And yes still on stock shocks. Have a trd sport so they’re the hitachi ones sounds like a shit brand to me lol.

Hitachi's and a spacer lift would be something I would use for two months until my real shit came in.

All rear shocks have pretty much the same length unless you do a shock relocation. Given only an inch of lift in the rear it’s unlikely that you are topping out. Could be any number of things.

Likewise with the front, it could be coil bind, it could be the sway bar or UCA etc.

Bilstein has rear shocks for 0 to 1.5, 1.5 to 3, and 3 to 5 inch lifts.
The front are set for 0 to 1.5 I believe.

The rear shock mounting locations only allow for about an 8” stroke. Longer stroke requires a longer shock which won’t fit at least no without adding other modifications that severely stifle the suspension or doing a shock relocation.

Not here to argue, just going off of bilstein specifications. I have the rcd 5100's (rated for 3 to 5 inches of lift) for the rear end with a 1.5 add a leaf and a 1 inch block. When I have to Jack the rear end up for service.... its sketchy as hell with about 9 inches of droop

Thank you to everyone for the input I’ve been doing lots of research and a lot of people say the sway bar touches the bottom of coil. I really hope it’s something as easy as a sway bar relocation.

what would you prefer? Like what’s a better way of lifting and not having all these annoying noises n stuff?

There are several ways to lift a vehicle some would argue the merits of each but the best way is to leverage whole suspension components designed with the geometry in mind, Coilovers, leaf packs, etc.

Shane, that's not gonna resolve any noises you're hearing in the rear....

The sway bar can be removed in about 15 minutes to test this hypothesis. I think it's 6 bolts, 2 socket sizes. Relo kit isn't expensive, but I'm not a big fan of throwing parts as a substitute for diagnosis - especially when you're paying for labor.

As someone else mentioned this also doesn't explain the rear. I'd give the shop, and/or yourself a shot at accurate diagnosis before coughing up $$.
