    I’m not saying not to get it replaced, just saying it won’t be much easier than if you weren’t replacing the frame. The AC system doesn’t have to but it will make it easier for the tech I’m sure. They could lift the cab up with the condenser but it would be easier for them to evacuate and discharge the system and separate at the compressor connections id imagine.

    So, the engine and cab stay together, but the condenser comes out?

    @Taco critter

    Seriously, John; I don't put a lot of wear and tear on my truck, I just drive it a lot! My friend's 2006 Nissan Maxima had about 160K miles on it when he got rid of it in 2016, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't making a quart of oil disappear between oil changes!

    I’m not sure how they’ll do it to be honest. They go by what their book says. There is more than one way to skin a cat. To remove engine on my ford they said to lift cab and discharge AC per the FSM, i squeaked by without doing either.

    Why'd they tear apart your Ford?

    Hopefully I'll need a whole new engine before an individual part that requires that much effort to replace needs to be replaced!

    It was about $200 in parts and the labor was free. An engine will be a lot more than that, even one from a wrecked truck. Wasn’t really that much effort, just takes some will power and a bit of luck.

    I know you are; But do you think that putting 20K miles on a vehicle in a year constitutes at lot of wear and tear?

    Would the engine have to come out of my truck for an oil pan replacement?

    If it’s stop and go traffic then yes, 20k highway miles are much less wear on all vehicle components, especially engine.

    It’s higher than the national annual average but that doesn’t really say much.

    I've put 10,000 miles on it since April 2021; I'd say most of that was highway driving...

    I don't think that's the problem though, because it's obviously not leaking oil; In 1999 at less than 100K miles, my dad's 1990 Mazda B2600i was a whole different story, and unfortunately our house at the time had a concrete driveway! :eek:

    I know I’m due for an oil change or soon after I need to add oil which is usually around the 3000 - 3500 mile mark or so .I take it the dealership for that but now the price increased $10 about . So that will change

    I can't remember the last time I had an oil change at the dealership, LOL; Actually that's a lie...

    I had to bring it to the dealership in February 2021 at 125K miles because my mechanic tested positive for COVID after I'd scheduled the appointment with him; Other than that, I don't think I've been to the dealer for an oil change since like 75K miles, which would have been the summer of 2017...
