Usually the camouflage isn't a good indicator of that sort of thing. I'm betting the styling will be similar to the new Tundra though.

The rendering wouldn't be terrible. Looks better than the Tundra anyway, especially in the grille.

That's what camouflage is for, to throw you off on those. Especially the heavy cladding like this.

That's not coming back any time soon. That's one of the reasons FCA felt comfortable going with the Gladiator.

Pretty much every make does a mid-cycle refresh to keep interest in their lineup. Full size pickups tend to do it sooner than mid-size but 2020 was the 5th year for the 3rd gen. So that's roughly on par for a 2024 release of the next gen.

Many sources point to 2024 (originally 2023).

And as someone who does a ton of research on the truck market (at the consumer level anyway) I can tell you that there are a lot of people who can pretty accurately tell you what a vehicle is based on lots of factors, even with the camouflage cladding on.

These include things such as design cues, type of camo, industry insider information, etc.

This aligns with other members inside industry info, the “guy on TW” comment was directed to others who have no idea or haven’t been following credible sources here.

I completely disagree that this is "too early." Many vehicles are spied in testing around this time prior to a launch, especially in heavy cladding. The cladding is sometimes used to hide new designs and sometimes used to hide an abundance of mismatched parts that are merely slapped together for testing purposes. A prime example would be when Ford modified the Ranger for Bronco testing. They didn't do a great job at hiding it though.

I remember Ford had 2 test mule 1993 Mustangs that they stuffed 4.6L engines into. This was to test the drivetrain in preparation for it going into the 1996 model year Mustang. The cool thing was then then handed these test mules to the aftermarket manufacturers so they could prepare aftermarket parts for when the 1996 was released.

It isn't uncommon for manufacturers to be testing new models years in advance of a model release.

Agreed. The 3rd gen was caught testing in a 2nd gen shell in 2015, but despite what most will say here it basically was a 2nd gen frame / spin off and not a ground up redesign. Would seem to make sense with a new powertrain, new frame, new suspension for the planned 4th gen there would be more testing.

I don't hate it. Could do without the color, but the truck itself doesn't look too bad

Regardless, this isn't uncommon. People are only left to speculate.

Can you imagine if Toyota wasn’t stuck in the last century and put an all EV 700hp drive line in there ?

ya ya ya we know , EVs are supposedly shitty and paradoxically “bad for the environment” .

Looks like a lot more room in the cab. Either that or that dude driving is a midget.
