Did you have any issues with the 3rd brake light harness?

Love this solution, I am about to order a similar setup through tnutz. Just out of curiosity, how much higher is this than your cab rack? Also, do you have the clearance for another inch (more?) on either side of the crossbars without the RSI doors hitting it? Thanks for any info!

Sorry to hijack the question, but I just installed my EvoA Adventure like two weeks ago. The harness in my case was a wrong one. I just cut the end off and hardwired it into my break light. I wanted installed then and I got no patience for waiting...even though I has to wait exactly 5 months for the cap to arrive.

The harness if it is the correct one from RSI is plug and play and works perfectly.

I believe it’s from rsi he didn’t say otherwise but I will keep messing with it throughout the week. It can only plug in one way and mines not drawing power

oh well. Here’s more pics of the cap just because haha

Some early harness that were provided had pins in the wrong position in one of the connectors, not sure which one. Switching these pins around resolved the issue for most. My harness was a later production one that had no issues. Search back further in this and the other RSI thread for details.

It’s weird because my cap is only a month old.. I feel like the harness should work no problem. Maybe I just got unlucky

Short story - yes. The second part of the harness never made it into my box before it left RSA. Thankfully, @OffroadAlliance.com filed a hasty warranty claim for me and RSI shipped me a new pigtail in about 6 days. In the meantime, to be legal, I just tapped the brakelights and ran with it.

Nope, its plug and play for me. I ran the wire through the small rectangle hole under the plastic trim by the taillight. If you need pictures I can take some.

The dealer told me sometimes RSI will ship the harness with two of the wires reversed and if that happens they just re-pin it and get on with life.

Install wasn't my problem, so I could care less.

There is a different harness for LED lighted vehicles. Maybe that could be the issue for you? I have no idea if you have LED or SAE or wat? Regardless I would contact RSI warranty service they are great. They’ll be glad to help you out as well.

Just got this bad boy installed this past weekend. Couple questions before I finalize and post some pics..

1 - The instructions were pretty specific about the torque for the bolts... Any good ways to feel 4ft-lbs vs 8-9 ft-lbs? Lol yes, I understand people have different strengths, so... say for an average guy
1.b - What are potential downsides for being off torque? I didn't let anything feel loose nor cause any too much bowing on the plates..

2 - I also received the plug-and-play wiring harness, great to see I got the correct one! However, I notice the third light only goes on when I brake, is this normal/expected? Feel like I've seen toppers on other trucks with the third light on if the tail lights are also on. Shouldnt they be lit if the tail lights are lit? I played around with the various settings on the light switch but none of them left the third light "on." Definitely flashes when I press on the brakes though, which is what's important.

3 - The installation part of the cap, one of the steps mention to put down the rubber pads, in even spacing. What are these for? I haven't done this yet..

Pads should be put down near or under the bolts. Between cap and rail.
