So I finally broke down and started doing this after I lost the cd player going to a 2021 TRD OR. I figured I could keep artist albums in a folder and then just scroll through. In my 2017 there weren't any nanny controls for USB music. Not the case in my 2021. The nanny grays out the "song" option so I can't sift through and skip straight to the songs I want at the time. Problematic when you have like 8 cds from the same band. I have to manually press the next button to keep skipping. Anyone have ideas on how to turn off nanny controls on the touch screen? I get why they're there but I feel like they have the reverse effect and are more likely to. Cause a wreck

Sorry, I have no ideas on how to turn off the 'nanny controls' on the touch screen.

Perhaps a workaround/compromise would be to put each CD/Album in it's own individual folder (that's what I do), and thus reduce the number of songs in each folder; thereby reducing the number times that you need to press the next button to get to what you're looking for.
That's probably not much help, but it's all I got.

I don't know how, but we need to do a parking brake bypass to get away from nanny controls.

I don’t know what kind of a phone you have or how Android auto works, but I have about 10,000 songs on my iPhone that are accessible through Siri while moving, or the touchscreen while stopped. Of course this does me no good when I go to my cabin in the mountains and am in and out of cell service (thus, no Siri), but then I use shuffle play—and there’s always playlists.

Yeah, I'm not big on having music on my phone. I just wish there was a way around having to be stopped for certain menus. I'm not a fan of needing my phone for nav in the 2021. I go plenty of places that don't have service. The grayed out buttons made me more likely to wreck my 17 when I initially got it. Nobody explained I had to be stopped to punch in an address. Took me a minute to figure out. Darn technology

Two CD threads on the front page. I feel like the trolls are out but yikes, these threads seem serious. It's a truck on the road so that eliminates quality. Spotify has 80 million songs for $10/month ($15/family plan). So much music, so little time on earth.
