Looks like something is mis-matched. Almost like there is an extra washer beneath the caliper (or adapter if you're running one). Post pics of the setup.

Yeah- let's do it. I'll be in town this weekend. Remember though, I still can't really ride normal (still riding one legged and one handed) but if you're ok with waiting for me at the bottom, that would be cool.

Nope, no adapter, no washers, other than the year-old replacement rotor, exactly as it came from Ibis. And we’ve probably replaced pads 5-6 times; never had this type of wear before. I’ll try to measure the rotor diameter or at least compare it with the takeoff which I probably kept.

This and how do your new pads line up back to back with the old ones pictured?

That was the first thing I tried to check after installing the new pads, but it’s surprisingly hard to see the positioning from the right angle around the caliper, etc.

I've seen this happen if you have a SRAM rotor and Shimano calipers.

Nope, 100% Shimano. Unless the new rotor was a knock-off; if so the packaging was very well done.

@evenslower @flipnidaho my kids have soccer games Saturday afternoon, so Sunday will likely be the only day I can go this weekend.

My first two bikes were Schwinn, in the 1960’s when they were US made (but still heavy carbon steel POS, at least mine) and currently I ride a Santa Cruz. Not sure how I feel about this news, though being local to SC and knowing some folks who work there, I’ve heard mostly good things about the Pon takeover a few years ago. Pon also recently purchased the largest Bay Area Specialized dealer and Specialized dropped them like a hot potato, including cancelling all warranty work from the chain of shops. The customer is the loser in that mess.
