This pistol is sick. I prefer a hammer, so good to see more options.

Is it a new stock? Or did you just oil the original?

Ok guys I'm hoping someone here can hep me. Hopefully I'm not banned but I'm thinking of selling one of my rifles. Savage 111 lwh. Haven't even listed it yet cause I cant find any online to get a price. Anyone have any ideas where I could find something for a gauge to list it?

If it’s a 111 the it’s a long action and it’s going to depend what version you have. The synthetic stock with a cheek riser and integrated barrel brake is about $800 new street price. So it only goes down from there without add ons.

LGS offered me $600 for a S&W 629-6 in 44 mag with 7 boxes of ammo, Gunbroker showed prices around $950. I just had an offer of $1200. So I'd check Gunbroker or local classifieds first.

The stock on my first Garand from the CMP (many years ago) came completely black. Not paint, and I don't think it was cosmoline. It had a flat finish, and was into the wood, similar to oil. I have never oil turn black, but who knows.

I refinished it with steel wool and boiled linseed oil - probably 20 coats over a several month period. Most of the black came off after the 1st or 2nd oiling, the rest looks like tiger stripes in the wood. Probably not my first choice, but it does look nice.

To me, you can't beat an oil finished wood.

    Yours looks great!

Like many people, I’ve always looked at KelTec with a skeptical eye. Having owned a P3AT and a Sub2K (in 40 Glock), I appreciated the concepts, but found their application lacking. Couple that with the unobtanium status of most models, I never really considered getting another. Until I walked into the LGS and found an RDB. I’ve seen MAC on YouTube talking about the RDB and how impressed he was over their earlier offerings. I handled it for about 30 seconds before handing over my credit card. First thing I did was swing by KelTec (they’re about a mile from my house) and pick up an MLOK forend and flared magwell.

That's sweet. Yeah, KelTec is never easy to find. I want one myself.

Thanks! The only bullpup I've shot was an AUG. I've still got a scar on my lip where the casing split it open (Long Gun Lefty problems). KelTec's downward ejection solution is pretty ingenious. If all goes well I should get it to the range this weekend for a little tuning. I've also got a YHM muzzle brake on it in preparation for my Resonator K getting released from ATF jail.
