Well, the race truck is down for the count. Oil starved it today at the last race event of the season and now she's gently knocking on heavens door. I'll probably do a tear down this winter and have pics of it then.

Yeah, not the ideal end to the season. I knew the truck has 200k miles though, and I'm pushing it harder than anybody else so somethings gonna give. Like they say, gotta pay to play. Time for the full nuts to the wall build and make it scream with boost.

Going to replace the engine or rebuild that block?

I have a spare engine that is torn down to get built, but I'm guessing this block is in better shape than the block from that motor. So there may be some mixing and matching going on. I may just build this engine block and use the other one for parts if I need to. Spare cams and whatnot.

That sounds like a good way to go.

I’d like to source a spare engine and transmission eventually to build for when my stuff goes kaput. Sometimes I get the feeling that’ll be sooner rather than later.

Take it around a track 15 times with super sticky tires and it'll help make sooner become now. E9C7B141-E2B5-4CFF-B140-68B843E07336.jpg

I think my transmission would go first. If I score a new engine & transmission and ditch about a foot of ground clearance I think a track day might work out.

If I have my timeline correct this should be the truck on 5inch drop in the rear. Six inches is what killed my bedside.
