I walked into a shoot of ER at Ontario airport and enjoyed a wonderful free lunch.

 

Haha I know that place, I drive by it nearly every day on my way to/from home. I've been there a few times, it's really good

 

Set crashing is like wedding crashing, as long as you look remotely like you should be there, no one is going to ask haha

 

There were at least 300 extras there to create a busy airport. I got to say hello to Maura Tierny (Abby) but she refused a pic. All the actors had teeth as white as porcelain, looked totally fake.

 

A friend of mine used to do it all the time. He was a broke snowboard coach so he would go to shooting locations to get a good meal. Even got paid every once in a while.

 

Carry a cup of coffee and wear an ear piece.

Yeah that's very true about the clients and pay. A friend of mine works as a sound engineer for Netflix and the union he's part of is on that big strike right now. All the union crews for TV/movies are striking for more pay from all these streaming platforms that are pumping out content like crazy but paying crews bottom dollar to work on the shows. I don't know if they've agreed to terms yet or not, could put a halt on new streaming content for a minute

 

The studios make so much on content and then don't pay crew shit. To work in Hollywood unless your a studio exec or star your living on the outskirts of LA and driving in. Socal is getting so unaffordable. I don't blame them for wanting more.

I am paying $17 an hour this season to non certified instructors just to try and get employees. There is nowhere affordably to live in Tahoe now for new people coming in the basin. All the extra homes and apartments are Air BnB or the home owners moved in do to covid and wanting to get out of the Bay Aria. We are directing people to Carson City or Reno but then your spending stupid money on gas.

That oil burning issue on marginal inclines would be my biggest reason to stay away, that dude that had his send a rod because of it just seals the deal. Crazy
