Getting ready to purchase my first Taco. :D It will be the TRD offroad with the 3.5 liter. I have found two of them I like, but one has a 3.91 and the other a 4.30 rear end. Will mostly be traveling with it on highway, with as much back roads as possible and sightseeing. Not towing very much at all other then my boat every once in a while. Would like the best fuel economy as possible, so is the 3.91 the way to go? Whats the best rear end for this rig? I will be staying with stock tire sizes far as I know, like to keep it simple.

    Appreciate the help, sincerely.

??? think the 3.91 is the AT and the 4.30 is the MT for the 3.5L TRDOR. So it depends on if you want to shift or just put it in gear and drive.

Hmm, it is saying it is a 6 speed transmission on the 4.30.

Both of the ones I am considering are 4X4.

Remember when you had a choice of axle ratios on a new truck order?

My dad bought a Chevy crew cab with 4.11 to haul the camper.

Truck was quick, just not fast.
