The valve cover gasket dries out and gets brittle over time, so why not kill 2 birds with one stone if your mechanic will be doing other maintenance anyway.

    FWIW.
When the valve cover gasket leaks, the oil will puddle in the spark plug wells or wet the side of the engine.

It will not enter the combustion chamber, unless your valve stem seals are leaking.

Take a bit of time to study the construction of your engine. Ask yourself, where would the oil go when it escapes the valve cover?

Well, the oil is going somewhere, but the truck is literally showing no classic signs of oil usage; My truck is literally pulling a Harry Houdini with roughly a quart of its oil between every oil change!

Maybe some more pictures would help.

Could you get a shot of the sides of the engine block?
    Oil pan?
    Rear Main Seal?
    Timing Cover?
How many miles between oil changes?
How often do you check the oil level between changes?

This is what I'm most worried about and Why I have been keeping an eye on the seeping rate and might be doing it sooner than later because replacing it too sooner is better than it causing spark plug firing problems.

I think its this water thin 0W-20 and low friction rings for gas mileage.

Do you have any external oil cooler installed?

I'll get the pictures tomorrow, but I can tell you that I change the oil every 5K miles and I try to check the oil level at least once a week but I was busy last week and forgot to do this...

    Simple way to find out.

Remove the coils. Shine a flashlight in the spark plug well. Look inside. If you see a black ring around the spark plug, then it is likely oil. If the ring is shiny silver, then likely no oil.

that’s likely for the slush box, if you haven’t added one then the answer is no.

Did you do the compression test today when replacing the plugs?

I was not recommending to install one, rather point out another potential area for oil to disappear to.

While the weather is still warm it is worth the peace of mind alone to get it replaced, thanks for that tip.

Next week maybe, but I'm thinking with this PCV valve revelation and likely replacing the valve gasket seal, the compression test won't be necessary...
