It is my opinion that you have not truly experienced Tacoma ownership at its finest until you've owned at least one Tacoma that has either manual windows or a manual transmission; Bonus points if it has both manual windows and a manual transmission! No 3rd Gens have crank windows and most of the ones I've seen are automatic, so...

When l was around 17 or 18 years old there was a brand new one inside the local Mall, I can remember climbing around through it.

If you want something done right, you do it yourself. That includes shifting the transmission. My two five speeds plus my taco is a 6 speed, that's 16 speeds of yota goodness.

The only reason I have an automatic is because my dad gave me the truck; You don't argue with a FREE brand new vehicle. I wanted a manual transmission, and tried to convince my dad to buy me a 5-speed Tacoma with the legit argument that it was cheaper, but I didn't know how to drive stick at the time and my dad thought it would be too distracting for a new driver; I got my driver's license in May 2011 and my uncle taught me how to drive stick in August 2014, in his 1991 Toyota pickup...

One thing I've been struggling with since I left the detail shop is keeping my windshield clean; When I was working at the detail shop, one of the many fringe benefits was getting to use the facilities to detail my own vehicle on my days off. I brought my truck in just about every week! Anyway, I asked my old boss what the best way to clean my windshield was, he brought it up on Amazon, and I took this picture of his phone...

If it's free it's for me, my first truck was a 94 S10 2wd auto a hand me down from my dad. Always had manual bikes and quads as a kid so learning stick was just a matter of moving the clutch from the left hand to the left foot. I sold that s10 about a year after I got it, split the profits with my dad and bought a 5 speed jetta, been a manual man ever since.

The taller one has been under construction for the last 2 years or so, if any hope prevails it'll have an FJ80 front axle under it by spring 2022.

I am genuine rarity because I have autism and can drive a stick shift; Statistically, only 50% of people with autism get a driver's license, period. I have a driver's license and can drive manual quite proficiently!

It’s a great skill to have, especially in this day and age. Those kindsa folks are a dying breed. I never have to worry about letting anyone borrow vehicles because they can’t drive them

Or anyone stealing them; Though for the suburban (and sometimes borderline urban) driving I do, I'm glad I have an automatic; The fairly decent amount of steep grades around here would have resulted in me needing a new clutch before 120K...

my Honda has a system that holds the brakes for about a half second after you release the brake so you don’t roll backwards. Not sure when that system came out but I thought my car was broke first time I drove it. I’ve learned it is a nice feature though. My clutches have lasted 1/4 million miles, even in hilly conditions as long as you aren’t riding it too bad.
