Well, it was certainly worth the wait! Truck runs great and love that whine.
What’s everyone’s thoughts on a CAI and headers? I know headers really open the exhaust and let it breathe. Always on the fence about the CAI because I never thought the performance was worth the price, just sounds/looks cool.

How could I forget? Horrible driving down the interstate! I had a 16 automatic and 18 manual. The manual was definitely better..

I owned the 2016 the first year it came out, and traded it or the 2014 Baja s/c as soon as I saw it listed. Driving the 3rd gen in the rocky mountains was a horrible experience of constant shifting when it shouldn't

    Congrats!!!

I found a huge increase in power in the higher RPM range when I added the CAI. Before that it had a ton of low end torque but would taper off quickly; now it keeps pulling as the tach climbs.
That’s with my 2.7” pulley, which up here at 4500 ft brings the boost to about what the 3.0 does at sea level.
Also I don’t have headers, just the TRD exhaust it came with.

Yep, it was bad enough here in KY. I can’t imagine the Rockies! Loved the interior though.

Good to hear. What brand do you have? I’ve read good things about AFE and considering one of those.
    Thanks!

I just swapped from the Volant to the AFE over the summer. Posted comparison pics in the s/c tips and tricks thread. Highly recommend the AFE momentum GT! Just quality. Though I ordered in May and didn't receive it until September, so you may need to call them about their wait times. They didn't list it as backordered on the website when i ordered.

That thread @scootter82 posted really is gold, and the guys in there are super knowledgeable and helpful. Don't hesitate to chime and and post questions there.

I went with the AFE Mangum Force Stage 2 Si and love it. It's what Toyota used to use with their TRD branding on it.
A lot of guys like the newer AFE Momentum but it's a HUGE box that requires an awkward relocation of the secondary air pump, plus it's a pain to access the filter to clean it. It's rated for a bit more flow than the Magnum, but somehow lower dyno numbers. Either will have more flow capacity than you use.

I saw that same intake on another post. Looks to be the latest and greatest for AFE. Crazy the difference between the two.
Yeah, back order seems to be everything these days. I’ll look around and see what I can find.

Nice! That’s the one I was originally looking at. I guess it depends on what’s readily available without waiting several months.
Yeah, I was looking at the S/C thread and it’s overwhelming with information. I have lots to catch up on! My mod wants outweigh my bank account!

Here's a local one that's even not stock -- nice looking Inferno with paint matched winch bumper. 58k miles, asking $35k. Plus it's a Utah truck so add like 40% to whatever blue book says.

Don't forget the extra badging. People gotta know it's a Pro from the sides too.

You are now in a position where a CAI would matter and provide you benefit
