The plan is from 1931 and they clearly didn't mess around then. If it's worth building, it's worth over building.

I can't tell where it was to know if it's still there or not, unfortunately.

There's pictures at my place of work during construction. Talk about rebar..shhhs...
My mentor there remarked once that if a jumbo jet flew into it, we'd just have a crew of supplemental employees in there scrubbing off the soot. Talking about containment around the vessel.

Weld fillet gauge, not that anything I would weld requires one, it was $10 on Amazon.

Welding, like most things I do, I had exactly zero minutes of actual training, I read books and went at it. I see things like this as a way to compare my work to established standards.

Goodmorning getting some coffee, wondering if new guy will be in or if he's even got a badge for access yet.

At my old job a big question for new production workers was "will the new guy come back from first break?".

Heh, we had that happen to use once since I've been where I'm at now. Guy said he was gonna get something out of his car and never came back. We found his badge in his locker. Apparently he got laid off from the railroad and even though he said he wouldn't go back if they called him I'm betting that's what happened. Every once in a while someone will bring it up and for a couple days afterwards we'll go "hey boss, I'm going out to my car for something!"

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I Will admit when I was real young I did run from the job and never looked back at the first break.

I learned a very good lesson any type of production job was not for me.

My brain does not like doing the same thing on a constant basis I get bored way to easy .

I think the shortest time I ever spent at one job was 6 months. On that particular job I had applied at another company shortly before that one and then got the call, new opportunity.
My brother on the other hand, so he sees this sign about asbestos removal and they will pay a person and give them the proper training to be certified to safely do such work. After training was completed he got sent to a job and said it was horrible on day one with extension cords laying in the water (live) and just a mess in general. On day two he said a guy asked him to hold the ladder for him...brother said he looked up and the dudes tyvek suit was torn out and all his goods right in his face. He said that incident was the last straw, his last day:rofl:
