    In the early 80's I bought a 1972 Olds Delta 88 Royale to do the 4-hour commute back and forth to a job I was doing at a remote site for about a year. It had been a salesman's car and had a ton of miles. I piled on some more. It was a complete barge, but when I came up behind pokey people in the passing lane and they caught sight of it in their rearview, they moved over. I coined a phrase: they can tell right away that they don't want to have an accident more than I don't want to have an accident.

    Not my car but you get the idea.
