285/75/16 fit under truck as spare???

    Will a 285/75/16 tire fit in the spare tire mount under the truck without modification?? Or do I need to look into a bed mount carrier? Thanks

    I have one, only slight modification with a bfh. I think it was two rails on either side needed to be adjusted out of the way.

    hhmmm well it looks like ill just have to wait until I get em and actually see how hard it would be to fit. Then I'll get a bed carrier if needed.

    I got a carrier because if I was in a sticky situation or in mud or something I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting it out. Plus it looks cool.

    I'd get the tiregate bed mount because its cheaper and I feel like it wont bounce around as much because it has less moving parts.

    What's the width of the spare tire wheel? Will it fit a 305/70/16? If it's 8", it will. I'd probably just use the spare wheel for the bed mount tiregate.
