Always a win. There are no bad days camping. LOL. Pack in some fire wood next time. I always try to do a weather review before I go. It helps.
That young man is our future to extending the camping and exploring pastime. Good on you!!!

Stunning photos! Do you mind sharing where that first Area is? I'm headed up to that area as well soon and looks like a great spot to explore.

Papoose Flat. Wouldn’t go alone, we flatted tires on both trucks. The flat on the big boy lead to a very long 24 hours.

Yeah. I had bigger pieces but forgot kindling. We knew the weather was going to be wet, but had to take the opening we had since I take over the duty wednesday night. Good news is we have another trip planned for a week and a half from now.

We call this "the match" around my house. Example: "I'm going to get the match so we can start a fire in this nasty rain"
    No kindling needed.

I actually bought a second one that lives in the truck because I forgot it once.

Either way you're doing it right and making lasting memories. Just think how excited the kid will be next time when there are hot hot-dogs and fire! :hungry:

if we manage to get a dry spell before the snow flies, we might go for it again. Next trip is to a state park, so not quite the same adventure.

I should have had the breadcrumbs on. Honestly, we just figured out the plan in the morning and went day by day. Very fortunate timing worked out.

Same for us. More to come in the future!

well, that will work for us! That is how I "plan" vacations now. We look ahead for a "landing point", and then just start driving. Hopefully in a few years, travel from the US to Canada will be closer to normal...

point detour campground is the biggest shit hole for the most money I have ever spent! for what they have it should be free.
went there riding the TWAT in july. only had like two spots left, the one we got didn't even have a table. 28$! and have to ride all the way back to the casino is dumb. the area is nice tho.

What four post awning is that? I used a flat tarp this last trip, and would like to up grade, but not so interested in a 60 pound set of Chinese handcuffs ;-)

We travel with the old Coleman white gas two burner stove. still works just fine. To start a fire, I pull the fuel tank out of the stove, light the kindling/paper for the fire, and "SPRAY" atomized white gas where ever it's most needed. Works a treat!
