I've got a set of 16" wheels, a dehumidifier, and likely that old box fan I found curbside in my ex-girlfriend's neighborhood...

So I dismantled that microwave and a dehumidifier; The dehumidifier did not have any refrigerant in it so taking it apart went, quite literally, smashingly!

The microwave was easier than the dehumidifier, until I assumed the window was made of plexiglass or something and started whacking away with the mallet...

That inner mesh is made out of metal and believe it or not I can actually get money for just plain scrap metal so I wanted to separate it from the plastic door...

Also, Kenmore used to be the shit in my opinion; My parents had a Kenmore washer and dryer from like 1988 that were still going strong in 2005, but now a microwave oven from 2014 can't even last a decade!

The reason my parents didn't keep the old washer and dryer is because they sold their house in Northern Virginia in 2005, and at that time in that area it was customary to leave the appliances (refrigerator, washer, dryer) with the house; The refrigerator was from about 1998 and the built-in icemaker/water dispenser didn't work properly, so it was wasn't a big loss. If I remember correctly, and I forget if it was the washer or the dryer, one of them was from the 1980s but one of them had seemingly failed in 1999 or so and the unit that replaced it was only like six years old at the time; Now that I really think about it, my parents opted to replace the remaining 1980s unit with a newer one in 2003 or 2004...

My aunt (my dad's younger sister) needed a new washer or dryer (again, I forget which one it was) and couldn't a afford a new one; The unit my parents were replacing still worked so they gave it to her. We were living in Northern Virginia and my aunt was living in Pennsylvania; She was driving a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder at the time, which wasn't exactly conducive to hauling a bulky household appliance, so she borrowed my Uncle Jeff's (her twin brother) 1987 Toyota pickup. My aunt knew how to drive a stick shift, but her bad back made it difficult for her to do so; She still managed to drive over three hours down from Pennsylvania.

That was a sweet truck too, my uncle's shop truck; A bit rusty but it had less than 100K miles on it and the A/C worked! I was within a year of being old enough to drive, and I wanted my dad to buy me that truck as a first vehicle. The bed was rotted out, but the rest of the truck was solid and it was as reliable as you'd expect a 1980s Toyota pickup to be; It had a clean title, too! It was black, and I forget whether it was a base, Deluxe, or SR5, but it did have A/C.

My dad and I took it for a spin because I really wanted to ride in it, and I recall him observing that it did not have power steering, but one thing I remember is that definitely did have A/C; My uncle has owned at least two pre-1995 Toyota pickups that he bought without A/C and then installed it himself, but I don't remember if the black truck that my aunt borrowed to haul the washing machine and/or dryer was originally a non-A/C truck. I just remember that it definitely had A/C and I found it odd that a truck would have A/C but no power steering.

One of my uncle's signatures with his Toyota pickups was to put vintage Toyota center caps on his 1974 AMC Hornet alloy wheels and then install these on his trucks; He did it to at least three Toyota pickups he owned...

    • The aforementioned black 1987ish 2WD pickup that my aunt borrowed.
    • A red 1986 pickup (also 2WD) that he bought totaled from an insurance auction, fixed up and gave his dad; This was also a non-A/C truck that he put A/C in.
    • The orange (formerly red) 1991 pickup that he taught me how to drive stick shift in back in 2014.

Also, since this is a towing and hauling thread, my uncle did pull a waverunner with the orange truck during the brief time he owned said waverunner...

That's why I tore apart the microwave and the dehumidifier, as well as that old box fan that I found in my ex's neighborhood and accidentally ran over when I was pulling into the garage...

The 16" rims that were on my truck for nearly six years, and have languished on TW Marketplace since November 2019...

My Kenmore washer puked 2 years ago. Was so old the serial number could only say it was 13, 33, 43 years old.

I know it's at least 25 years old as it was bought either right when my inlaws first moved here (30 years or so now) or might have been here already. Dryer is on the way out, noisy AF
