Just gotta say, as a longtime NHL fan, it is awesome that my hometown now has a team. Watching the Kraken scrimmage the Canucks, score is 3’s in 2nd period but Seattle has controlled the puck and has like 4 times the shots on goal, they look pretty sharp for preseason

Guess it's almost time to start posting in here again. I watched a few pre-season games. Nice to have hockey back. I just can't get up for pre-season much, so looking forward to the real games. It's looking like Hyman might be just fine in Edmonton lol. Just something that came to mind.

The NHL, "we take Lehner's accusations that teams are hiding concussions using prescription sleeping pills very seriously and will investigate fully."

Linesmen on the ice, "let's let his head smack the ice a few more times, the Ambien is going to take care of him anyway."

Get ready. The season starts tonight. Now I will have something to watch besides streaming old movies and shows. The Penguins consecutive playoff streak is really on the line this year.

They’ll make the playoffs. They need to be able to make it past the first round.

Plenty of old guys on the team this year: Carter, Boyle, even Crosby, Malkin and Letang. They are going to have to pace themselves, or take more naps.

So glad hockey is back. I thought the intro that ESPN did before the Pens game was awesome , with the theme song composer. I sort of hate ESPN but in a way, I am glad they have hockey again. I hope it is good for the sport. All things considered they did a good job on opening night.
As far as the Pens, I was pretty impressed. They played a sound game and played like a team. They are going to have to continue doing that, even when everyone is back. They can't be that team that just carelessly slings the puck around, like they used to. Good forecheck, calculated pinches, support and play D as a unit. I like it. Granted, the Bolts were just flat. but still. Jarry looked pretty good too.

Not sure what crazy analytics that John Cooper has seen, but that was an interesting way to handle the extra skater there at the end. Not sure if I've seen a final 6mins handled that way or not lol.

I fell asleep during the Vegas game but that was pretty decent from what I saw.

I was watching the NHL channel today. I think they said the last time a team scored 3 or more empty netters was something like 30 years ago?
