Flag on the play, excessive use of meme. I’m glad y’all are done bitching about pc he said she said I didn’t get picked first in kickball shit.

I’m depressed. Seahawks have been a spot of brightness in a dreary Seattle skyline for quite a while
where do we go from here?

They say the Mariners might make the playoffs for the first time in 20 years…TWENTY! TWENTY YEARS MAN!!!! And we have an NHL team.

See y’all in like 3-10 years when we either complete a rebuild or hire a new coach under 70

I’ve had a question regarding the OT rules ever since they reduced the OT to 10:00 minutes.
The team receiving the ball first could possibly use up the 10:00 minutes and kick a field goal with no time remaining… What happens in that scenario?
The rule states it’s not sudden death if the team receiving, on the first drive kicks a FG….
    ???

Now that would be a crazy situation, NFL site has the ten minutes cannot go over. Here's what I found on their site. Meaning the kicking team would either win or tie the game on their attempt.
      • There shall be a maximum of one 10-minute period, even if the second team has not had an opportunity to possess the ball or if its initial possession has not ended. If the score is tied at the end of the period, the game shall result in a tie.

Yes, I found that as well. As I read it, the rule does not address the scenario I described. It addresses the time expiring when the game is tied…. Maybe I’m deciphering it wrong

Not sure what you mean but the game will end no matter what after the ten minutes, even if the other team hasn't had the ball yet. So it would be sudden death in that fashion or even could be a tie if that team with the ball initially doesn't score. If they use all the clock and kick the FG either tying or winning the game.

As they state it strangely with sudden death for FG and should just go to college rules or something other than the NFL has with the team winning the cointoss having a huge advantage.

That’s actually the last determining factor to decide a division winner… after head to head, division record. Conference record, points scored, points relinquished….. coin toss.

I'm for the old sudden death, first score wins in 15 minutes.

    Why complicate this?
    Play a full overtime quarter.
Doesn’t matter who scores first or any of that BS.
Team with the highest score wins. No change in score = tie.

New OT rules are better than previous but still think each team should have opportunity to get both their offense and defense on the field. If team with first possession scores a TD, the other team should get the ball as long as there's still time left of the 10 minutes. Same as a FG.

    Or exactly as PzTank said.

Makes sense to mean. Doesn't every other professional sport do it this way?

Since 1994, the team that won the overtime coin toss won the game 34.4 percent of the time on the first possession and have won about 60% of the time total.

I don’t know of any other Pro sport doing it this way. NHL, NBA, MLB… no ties in those.
EPL and every other soccer league play to a draw with no OT.

World cup soccer shootout rules...but with field goals.

Kickers have to line up at the 40 and take 5 shots. Whoever makes the most wins...unless it's a tie again, and then the first kicker to pull ahead wins it.

5th kick has to be done by the punter.
