Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Thinking about hauling out toward the Verde Valley / Cottonwood area for a quick camping run with the wife and mutts.

Anyone have any recommendations of good driving / camping opportunities in the area?

FR413 is always a good run...take Mingus Ave by the airport to get to it.

In June 2019, the fifth-largest wildfire in Arizona history devastated the Superstition Wilderness and burned 123,832 acres of pristine wilderness. The human-caused Woodbury wildfire consumed everything in its path right up to State Route 88. A short while later, in September of 2019, the remains of tropical storm Lorena dumped an unusual 5 inches of rain in a couple of days, causing severe washouts and a large boulder to fall off the mountainside of Fish Creek Hill. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) promptly closed the road “indefinitely” and erected a heavy metal gate under padlock equipped with a No Trespassing sign.

It is a nice place, a bit past its prime. I ve enjoyed a burger and a beer while passing through on my way to camp on the side of apache lake ( nothing like waking up in the morning to fish from your sleeping bag)

....but I wouldnt buy it for a quarter if the only access road to it is closed

    Shot in the dark here:

does anyone remember a phrase of likely a sitcom using 'Yes, that is quite adequate' or 'looking very adequate' basically it was a running joke on the word 'Adequate' I want to say it was Seinfeld, but my Google-Fu is failing me
