TRD Skidplate - after 4 years of givn’er (with care)

Had my OEM TRD Pro skid plate off tonight. I painted this plate dark grey when I first got it because I didn’t like the look. It’s been repainted a couple times over the years.

I enjoyed having a look at it. A lot of memories locked up in every gouge. Over four years of doing its duty. It has that look you can only get through honest use. No faux-relic treatment here.

Anyways…….certainly not the most abused plate on this site. Lots of peeps here going way harder and gnarlier than I would ever care to. Still, fun to look at.

Maybe it’s time for bigger tires and more lift!!

Someone here was recently lamenting about corrosion possibly making his TRD skid look bad.

 

Nice to see that TRD skid plate doing it’s job. And nice to see that we all don’t need heavy steel skid plates too.

Looks great. I'm sold. I would have thought they would fold and crack but that thing has taken some decent hits and scrapes.

Maxed out the purpose. Did it's job!

 

I've got some gouges in my Pro plate as well. It's held up really good.

 

This is making me think that a skid plate is going to be my next upgrade, from the barely there one on my SR.

 

Nice body of work wrapped up in there, looks like it did its job!

 

Mine is newer and less gouged than yours, but one of my TRD letters has been damaged. I noticed it was pulled halfway out one outing, made a half hearted effort to push it back in without success, and later found that it had mostly fixed itself; presumably with the help of the ground.

 

I still think @Norilsk takes the cake for most abused TRD Pro skid plate
