TACO GARAGE - Dashtop Multi Mount (DMM) CLEAN and SOLID Tacoma accessory mounting

Didn’t really pay much attention, there’s tons of room there. I just bundled up the extra and ran it straight from the head unit to the top of the dash there where the exit is.

I’ve been debating on the pitaka mount. They make such nice stuff but you are stuck using their own phone case. They have a whole magnetic ecosystem now, wallet, desk mount even a wall mount

 

I like their phone case, I get one with each new phone

 

Order mine over the weekend . it gets here by Friday .

 

I’m using a UAG case currently.

 

Are their magnets not compatible with a simple metal plate? and are their cases not compatible with any other regular magnet?

I did, they have a neat system and it seems like it may work but the magnet pattern is kind of unique so it wont work perfectly with others or "standard" magnets or plates

We will be making our own arms from now on!

Machined aluminum
Super short to minimize vibration (longer version coming too)
Raw, black, red and (maybe) custom colors.

 

I like em. I’d also love a full black ball stud dealio if possible.

Which makes me think, I could probably do it with just a thin sleeve myself if I got the perfect ID and minimal OD.

 

That would work, what I've done and I've seen others do is simply use heat shrink on it and then just cut off the excess. But for me to do that to every ball mount I sell is more work than I feel I can charge for.
The stem of our ball mounts is 7/16" OD so you should be able to find one pre made, the issue is going to be the OD on the sleeve, but I think you'll be fine with something close to 1/2"

We are having them anodized this week, hopefully they will be ready next week. We're making black and red arms, the knob will also be either black or red and also machined aluminum. Users will be able to customize their arms in any combination of arm/knob color.
Our new arms will be offered in two sizes but initially only the short arm will be available. The length is 1.25" for the short arm and 2.75 for the long arm (ball center to center). Our current arms are right in the middle at 2" but the difference is much more than the length.
Our new arms will be solid aluminum (vs plastic) and much smaller in all dimensions.
Weight is also cut in about half even though the new ones are all metal.
All those changes make the arms much less prone to vibration.
And obviously much more visually appealing.

Question. Are we able to purchase replacement bottom plates? Was moving balls (heh) around to reconfigure my set up and noticed that one of my mounting points is stripped on the inside now. Would love to be able to use that spot again if able.

 

Unfortunately no, we do not sell bottom plates individually but we do send free ones out to customers who unintentionally damaged one @TheTacoGarageServiceRep will get you taken care of.
