    When I did my first cmc, I just removed the necessary material and then made a template using the hole I created. I think I’m still using the same “template” to this day. You might be overthinking it- you can just cut and patch as necessary.

    Besides, most places sell cmc plates for about $20. You’d probably spend that much to buy a downloadable file and buy the material to cut it out.
