Got it good and Smokey with the heat gun, pounded it some more with the bottle jack in place. No dice tonight.

I may just hole saw the rubber out and then chisel out the metal. Next time.

 

I used a heat gun and constant pressure from the bottle jacket, it work slowly, but worked.

On the LCA,

upper I just took them out side and melted the bushing out

 

Ive got an empty set of LCA’s at the house if you want them

I tried a hole saw on the UCA bushings without success. I think It can work, but you'll have to be very careful about the saw's speed. Spin too fast and things will heat up into a gummy mess and the saw will stop cutting. Maybe throw the the arm in a freezer for few hours first...

Personally, I found the Toyota mechanical bottle jack lacked skookums. I got a hydraulic bottle jack that was much nicer to work with. I think others have had luck with the Toyota jack, though.

One more thought... the jack is probably pushing against the rubber of the bushing, so it's only putting indirect pressure on the mating surface. Some of the force is lost to stretching the bushing--that's why they sometimes go flying when they come free. If you can find or cut a washer that just fits inside the LCA, you'll be able to put pressure directly on the outer sleeve of the bushing. Might help. Or might make it easier to deform the arm. I didn't need it, but I've heard that a ratchet strap will discourage that.

My OEM lowers get here tomorrow. The aftermarket arms are taunting me all bent up with their shiny new bushings installed.

 

I was chipping away at pieces of the metal bushing sleeve, there isn’t much of it left. It might not have tne integrity to come out in one piece

They come with cords?

I remember dryers at least not coming with cords; you open a back panel and wire up your own cord to suit your home as not every house has the same outlet available.

 

It turns out that they do not and I misunderstood the guy. They didn't bring a long enough cord but did bring a standard 6ft that I paid for.

Not sure if I can pick up a longer one from their warehouse or if I'll have to order one... Lowes/HD don't stock them longer than 6ft

 

Fortunately those cords are available at tons of places, even Best Buy if you had to resort to that.

10-15 bucks, just get the cord for the right outlet!

I remember finding one at Sears for cheap when I bought new washer/dryer for the old house.

 

I'm still amazed that Best Buy is still a brick and mortar store. The one in Carson City never has cars in the parking lot.

There is, but they don't have a longer cord in stock

 

What about an ace hardware?

 

How long do you need? You can make these cords really easily, they sell the right size three conductor cable at home Depot and the plug end.
