Yeah I always hear guys talking about their Duratracs kicking ass off road or in snow, etc etc. But what about tread life? What about pulling double duty as a daily driver / weekend warrior? In these categories, how do they compare to the BFG A/Ts? And diehard BFG A/T guys switch to Duratracs and wish they didn't? Or wish they did it earlier?

I ask because I've run BFG A/Ts exclusively on my 4runner and now my Tacoma. Truth be told I never even heard of Duratracs (which actually are listed as a commercial tire on TireRack) until I came to this site.

LT265/70/17 BFG A/T's, Disabled Seat Belt Buzzer, Black and Gray Covercraft Seat Covers front and rear, Matching SnugTop Supersport Canopy, undercoat, bed mat, window vent shades. Black Weathertech Liners. Trans TSB, Rear Spring TSB Installed.
Living in the Northwest I would only rate them middle of the pack. While some say they last forever, this is to be expected. The tire compound is very hard. Problem with the harder compound is it's not flexible which produces a hard ride and can hinder traction IMO. Heck a little bit of rain or icy conditions and they will break loose easily.
I had Yokohama Geolander AT/S on my last truck. Compound was a bit softer and tires didn't last as long, but on the plus side they had great traction in almost all weather conditions and were very reasonably priced.

I'm impressed with my duratracs in everything except tread life. 20k max I will get out of them.

Might as well. If you're going to get 20-30k out of a tire, do it for a reason.
