Not a bad time to swap it. Did mine at just under 7,000mi. Things appeared to look good at about 55,000mi. Probably do them again soon.

I replaced my rear diff fluid more out of fear that the level was low from factory. I used Amsoil gear oil in those new squeeze pouch . It was easy. I'm not one of those that goes Amsoil on everything but the pouch squeeze was a no brainer. Engine oil I'm Mobil1 Extended Service 0w20 ofcourse :D.

The pouch thing is cool. The whole industry should be using (licensing?) that.

I recently bought a $10 HomeDepot sprayer to accomplish it. Hand pumping took a while last time.

My guess is that the factory fills by either set volume or until it dribbles. Either way, the lube will be going to virgin areas immediately afterward, so there might be a bit of underfill by the nature of it. I think the only big error would be expecting the factory stuff to last forever. Then again, some folks do and the Taco still goes. Hahaha!

Thanks! Thinking about doing a quasi retro take on this thing with grayscale Ivan stripes on the side and fifteen52 steelie-style 80s wheels and white-out letters on the tires. Thoughts?

I like the stripes, but maybe slightly more subdued and just on the quarter panel. Rather than 80s steelies, maybe some of these Method 703s in gloss titanium. Similar look with updated pop. At least that's what you got me thinking about for mine! Screenshot_20211014-134703_Chrome.jpg

God, I wish! Nope just some pictures I found on Google images of old Toyota trucks I love that may be good inspiration for what I’m thinking.

Those look pretty dang good. I’m still open to wheel choices, it’s the fifteen52s I saw which got me thinking of a more retro build style…these in particular. 3401082D-D756-4294-B614-F7AC9B32035D.jpg
Although yours have the advantage of being that gray color that would fit the theme even better.

    Stock-ish
Got some rear limit straps in the mail today, along with some tabs so I can build a crossmember in my bed for my shock towers. Ordered some Sae Diode Dynamics fogs, stoked for those so I can just leave them on all winter. Also found a company thats doing some new air bumps for Tacomas, so should receive those in a couple weeks. After that, the rear end is done and time to save/start looking for front long travel stuff.

How much fun did you have putting in those UCA's?

That would look sick! I ran kmc Roswell wheels on my truck for a while and loved the old school look!

I think it would look sick. The chrome will make that blue pop + a deep dish gives more bling. I bet you can find those but I don’t know if they will fit

One thing I didn't like was the chance of rattles seeing bolts and whatnot used, so took a heavy thick type drinking straw (probably from one of the princess s*fucks drinking cups), cut, melted and squished the ends.
