What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

The frame caps are bolt in, no welding required.

 

After 7 months my bumper and tire carrier finally shipped just in time for me to be layed up for another 6 weeks after hip surgery.

 

Sure... but why spend money when I can chop, fold, and weld while I already have the chopper, the hammer, and the welder out?

 

Forgive me but what is the purpose of the frame cap?

 

Finally took the time to hardwire the V1 today!

Thanks to the guys that sent the schematic of the rearview mirror wiring.

And the new probe set for my fluke meter. I was able to do a jam upjob.

 

it’s another thing for OCD people to spend money on to cover a hole no one ever notices. Seems like a waste of money to me. I just run my frame ends open with my CBI bumper.

 

What probe set did you purchase? I have some really cheap ones that won't last and I'd like something to carry in the truck that'll do the job when probing is required.

 

From the factory (like mine, pictured) the ends of that crossmember are mostly closed - just enough gap for water to drain out. If you trim them in order to get the most clearance from an aftermarket bumper that opens up the front of the truck, they're left open on the ends, which means crap can generally collect in there. Some people don't bother capping/filling, and just hose it out once in a while (or not).

I just filled mine with expanding foam and rattle canned black paint over and Bob's your uncle.

 

Here you go, I was very presently surprised with the quality of this set. The leads actually seem to be of higher quality than my factory Flukes.

Well crap, a little far for a barn raising. I did a project in Pasco and loved that part of the country. Plus Frasier lives there!

 

Mine’s naked too and I live in the southeast…constant mud. I think it’s better empty because I can shoot the hose in there

 

I use this sometimes to hold in all of our camping gear. Works well.
