I know this has been an issue on the 6 speed manual trucks on the gen 2 but has anyone had this on third gens? Im pretty sure it is the throw out bearing. What is toyota doing to correct this? or does anyone have a solution. Ive been back and forth to toyota and my warranty is running out .

Mine started to chirp around 200k. I've just been ignoring it for now. Hopefully it'll last until I need to replace my clutch. I'm at 225k currently.

The chirp is the throw-out bearing skipping on the fingers of the pressure plate. The fix in the old days was to pull the piston out of the slave cyl and thread another spring around the original. This would add just enough pressure on the t/o bearing to stop the skip/chirp.

    YMMV Ron

PS this was actually a factory fix back in the pre Tacoma pickup days

Yeah I seen a few posts of guys taking the spring out of the slave cylinder of an old Ford mid 90s model and it seems to work but I can’t find the old post . The gen threes warranty even with the extension will not cover any clutch friction plate throw out bearing or bushing so. not only that they claim the sound doesn’t exists but I can assure it’s there it drives me nuts.
