Good Morning SA! Quite the night! 5.47" of rain from 11 to 6 AM. No power from 1 AM to 6 (my CPAP not working kind of woke me up). Nice having some gas appliances - Carol made Mikkel breakfast and he showered by candlelight before heading off to work. Only apparent issue is my outdoor pond power circuit - GFCI is tripped; but going to have to wait a bit to figure that out. Rivers in flood stages throughout the county. No need to run sprinklers the rest of the week!

saw a little wreck on the way in today on 181south just north of Karnes. Didn’t snap a pic. But looked like a full size Chevy had a good chunk of the guardrail attached to his front bumper. must've caught standing water, went across the roadway and hit the guardrail right where it started.
Lots of police already on scene. I’m sure it’s all clear by now. That was almost 2 hours ago.

 

181 has a lot of 18W traffic from oil Eagleford Shale area, the lanes hold water from the heavy use, during the summer, sections of highway have to be repaired because it will buckle in a matter of days.

 

You get a lot of rain compared to what we get, I thought for sure we would have that amount, seemed like it rained a bunch overnight, only got 2.65in but I'll take it, I really needed the rain at the farm, most of corral area hasn't even germinated yet, but some of food plots were starting to show signs of growth.

Going through 181 is Quite the ride, if you veer off your lane when it rains those detentions/ruts made by the heavy big rigs, they can give you quite the scare! They’ll push your tires to a direction you ain’t expecting on going!

 

Sup SA, finally got home….what a day

 

Sup Mark. Tough job, but I did pretty much nothing all day. LBR dropped and picked up. Sorted a drawer. Day off!
