I don't have one but I'm debating if I want to try the redi-catch. It uses the mag release to activate the bolt catch latch. I don't really like anything else inside the trigger guard beside the trigger and my finger.

Yes, and also a 1-1/8” open end, but nothing that will work with the torque wrench.

 

Lol, I'm one of those delinquents that doesn't always use a torque wrench on barrel nuts if I can't.

Finally broke down and picked up a P/W 14.5 M4 Carbine upper from Bravo Company to complete this build - bought an M4A1 lower from PSA and had it sitting in my safe for almost 2 years. I used a ambi safety I had on hand - have a Colt on order. Haven't had a chance to run any rounds through it yet. I also need to decide if I want to put any optics on it or just keep it as is.

 

Hell of a deal if you like straight triggers. Cheapest I've ever seen them. The match(linked) is $179, 3-gun is $192, Match-Pro is $180, and AR10 is $172.

If you've done enough of them you probably have a good idea where it should land on tightness. Some instructions for some handguards have like a 40 ft/lb window to work with in their specs.

 

My father-in-law has a 1-1/8” crowfoot, I’ll swing by there and tighten it.

I couldn't help it. I went ahead and bought 2 safeties, 2 PWA ratcheting castle nuts, CMC trigger, and the Faxon 8.5" barrel. The Faxon 9mm BCG wasn't available today when I got to work, so I lost that deal.

 

And the gas block didn’t want to go on, had to heat it and also file down the lips where the pins for the front sight block were. They were ever so slightly mushroomed from the pins.

 

Looking to purchase my first AR-15 any recommendations on what I should look for? Will be using it mainly for fun shooting. I currently own a walther PPQ M2, Remington 770 30-06, Remington 870 12g.

Good luck there are many options depending on budget. Many of us tend to be brand loyal also so take that with a grain of salt.

 

Palmetto State Armory has some good deals...i think you will find varying opinions in what to buy...

For a factory gun, I think the sig sayer tread line are awesome. That or a Springfield Saint line.
