this is almost my exact setup and I’m currently running the icon AAL and not pleased with it.
looks like I’ll be headed to Deaver Stage III’s.

I had the TRD lift installed on my 2021 sport a few months ago and had OME 888’s put in up front and Icon AAL in the back to ready the truck for additional weight, all under the pretense of the TRD lift basically being branded 5100’s.

it didn’t work. While it does replace the rear shocks, it adds no available length, which is why it’s a spacer lift (and my understanding is not to combine spacer and spring lifts to avoid axle wrap).
My icon AAL wasn’t doing shit and then started to get sag when I put on my RTT.
Ended up replacing the rear shocks with 5160’s and it’s helped but the AAL still isn’t cutting it, about to go to stage III’s.
Seriously regret installing the TRD lift at all.

Best thing is make sure you get your truck weighed to see how much weight you have. I thought it was 1000-1200 over and turns out I’m closer to 1700. not tally different then other but she’s heavy.

I have a custom Deavers pack in order.

They will replace my HD Dakar’s which are not doing me any good at this point. Ride is terrible now. I also have Archive Hangers and are paired to a shock relocate w/12” triples. I had King reg OEM before with the Dakar’s.

I have stage 3 and love them! This is a pic of my truck fully loaded for an 8 day camping trip: wooden sliding camp box in the bed, 2 SUP's, Dometic fridge, 20lb propane tank, 7 gal water, 2.5 gal gas, RTT, and plenty of other miscellaneous things.

Nice! If you ever decide to add armor you would be a good candidate for a custom pack. Any idea what it is fully loaded? Armor is what get most folks but curious with just gear no armor is like

Not too sure... I would guess around +800lbs in the rear. Will Doo steal sliders, steal rear bumper w/ tire carrier, and probably aluminum front bumper

I put in stage III last year, and got a bit too much lift (3+"). The ride is ok, but it rides too high.
I overestimated the weight of the camper shell, armor. And no rear bumper yet.

I would trade for stage I or II, if some wants to swap.
Mine are lightly used- maybe 2000mi.

Yah without the rear bumper def agree it’s prob too much. A rear swingout and tire or more with HC easily adds almost 4-500lbs once you add gas or what not. And it’s hanging off the rear so that plays a part.

@BudLoomis of you plan to have all that factor that in. Minis some of your stuff good chance your over 1000 easy once added.

I don't think your overestimation matters. In my experience with my Stage 3, they ride a little high. I have about 800 lbs daily and just over 1000 lbs when fully loaded. Even with that weight, I ended up with 3.5" of lift which is yuuge!

Kind of thinking of going stage 2 but I know I'm overweight for what the stage 2 recommendation is. But I definitely want to bring the rear down.

Yeah, I believe stage III are rated for ~1000lbs, and I guess that includes 'some' lift as well, lol!

What do you have in the rear to total 1700 pounds? I installed stage IIIs two months ago and I'm not sure I'm getting as much lift as I thought. I've got a hardshell RTT, Prinsu cap rack, ARE cap, wooden drawer system, and HC swingout with tire. I estimated ~1000 lbs with my fridge and other misc. gear but I'm wondering if I'm heavier than that.

Its very possible you are over that.

I have HC Dual Swing out 315, gas, propane, wedge camper (same weight really when I had a regular shell no tent), sliders, skids then gear when on trips. Fully loaded I am 6800 - 7100 lbs total. or about 3800 in the rear. stock is around 2000 so 1800 over at the top end for me. I would take your truck down and get it weighed. I popped over to the Cat Scale the do front/rear weights.

HC swingout with 35/315 is likely close to 400lbs alone if not more. plus it's hanging off the rear so could feel heavier. Your drawer system is likely heavier than you think. When I had the shell no wedge I had a wood setup. When I took it out the def added weight. Slides alone were prob 50 lbs. I am guessing that was 200lbs give or take. Slides each weight 80ls I think. That's almost 800 already. add skids haven't even got to the shell or tent yet.

My custom Deaver setup just finished and is on its way up. They said I should get around a 3" lift which is about where ill want it with the +2 kit. My guess is it will sit around 2.75 or so.

new springs are good for 15-1600 over they call is the xxxxhd or something ha

You're probably right. I did the math like this, with the only unknown being the drawers since manufactures listed the weight of everything else
    • CVT tent: 140
    • Prinsu cap rack: 50
    • ARE cap: 175
    • Drawers: ~150
    • Mobtown HC swingout: 170
    • Tire and wheel: 75
    • Fridge and slide: 87
    • Hi lift jack: 31
    • Other miscellaneous camping gear: 75
That's 950, so round that up to 1000 with all gear not accounted for. If the drawers are say 300 then I'm at 1,150 which would indeed be over. Sometimes I think the drawer system takes up more space and adds more weight than it's worth. Also, granted all of this gear isn't on the truck 100% of the time. I usually remove the tent in the winter and the fridge comes out. I need to take measurements from hub center to fender again to find out exactly where I stand. I wonder if I needed more if I could call Deaver and they'd send me another leaf.

I currently have the Stage I's installed but I have the Stage III's sitting in the garage. At around 500 lbs constant load the Stage I's are sagging and have gotten soft. I skipped stage II and went with stage III's because while I'm not quite at the 700lb mark, I will be once I have my drawers, water tank and a few other odds and ends installed, however, I'm starting to get concerned I'll end up with excessive lift until I get more weight back there. If that's the case, would it be possible to just pull one or both of the overload leafs to drop the rear some until I get more weight back there?

Hey! Nice truck...saw it at BAMF over the weekend. Do you remember your order specs with Deaver? Did they put your name on the little sticker they put on the leaf pack? I'm thinking of ordering new leaf packs (currently have stage 3's), and I know I will need heavier-rated packs. I know MJ has like 1300+ lb packs for his Drifter, but I think Deaver forgot his order specs. From what I understand they record the custom packs in their computer by name. You mentioned they called it the xxxhd...? Is that what I should ask for?

Oh...and I was the white 2.5gen Tacoma with the flat bed Tommy Camper.

    Yo
Honestly, I don't think they track anything. I tried dropping Nick, MJ, Jerry, etc, and didn't help. MJ had to have his redone at one point. I think at this point they have done enough overweight leaf packs they have unlisted products options. Get the truck weighed up and give them the specs. My other buddy has XHD which was supposed to be around 1200 or prob. Mine is the XXHD and is rated around 15-1600 overstock and noted as the heaviest they will do for a Tacoma. My truck weighed 6900-7000 when loaded up with an assumed 2000 rear weight stock and 3800 when loaded (per the Cat Scale).

Do you know how much the truck weighs now? I meant to check your truck out too. First time seeing one of the Tommy Campers in person. Looking good. PM me if want to chat more.
