Agree with you re: reduced flow rate. I think there might be a Fumoto valve with a larger opening.

In the meantime, I open the Fumoto valve, THEN start dicking around with the oil filter. Less time wasted that way.

Ever since I watched a homeless Dude working at Wallyworld stick my drain plug into an air gun and just rifle the f’n thing into the oil pan of a 92 GMC Safari AWD cross threading it, I’ve been looking for an alternative and this works for me

You sort of earn that treatment for going to places like Wally World or anything with Jiffy or Speedy in the name…. That said, I had to remove a drain plug installed by a dealer with a breaker bar, I really limit any outside service and try to get it all by myself.

I received my 133N Fumoto today. I guess my engine is living on borrowed time, now? About 1500 more miles to go before I do the install!

No harm to change your oil a little early.

I would like an electric cutout; I’m getting tired of flipping the switch every time

Mine drains in about 5 or 6 minutes, but I do drain it when the engine is warm since I don't have to worry about spilling hot oil on my arm or splash it on my neck. Since I'm a relatively new convert, my valve is the newer style with a larger drain port.

    Yeah.
If I drove my truck enough to do multiple changes in a year, I might consider a Fumoto valve. But even then, at 10K mile changes, I'd likely only do 2 or so. As it is, I do annual changes (on 4 vehicles) and don't find removing drain plugs that difficult or annoying. It's a neat doohickie, but nah.

That's kind of how I feel about it. If I did multiple oil changes per year then it might be worth having. But as little as I drive these days, I am on the "once a year" plan and it just does not justify the expense of buying the valve.

And I have no issues or concerns about the valve popping open on it's own, or some homeless guy draining my oil out of spite (is this really a thing?). And I don't do any heavy off roading to be concerned about it getting smashed and broken off. Like you said, cool little gadget I guess but just not worth it for my situation.

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
This is an outdated opinion. All fumoto valves have recently been upgraded to high flow rate. My entire pan drains in under 10 minutes.
