One of the original threads for the SX that shows up when you search for it on Google established that misconception because, I assume, they made the same mistake and confused TSS and SX.

    SX is bonafide Toyota.

Adding emblems defeats the whole SX theme of minimalism black out.

Not sure why anyone would want door emblems, there's a 4 foot emblem on the tailgate. I have a V6 but doesn't bother me that the truck doesn't have the V6 emblem. Simple clean is what I think looks best but if people want chrome or badges all over their truck then we'll its your truck.

I'm of the same mindset too, de-badged the truck the day I took her home. Plenty of TACOMA on the tailgate to remind everyone I drive the same truck as everyone else in Colorado...

Convenience package cost 233 dollars. Those are some expensive flares and rims.

Flares alone if you want to add the oem ones that actually look nice are around $700 brand new, unless you want to add the hideous bushwackers or Lund ones. If you want to add those black Sx wheels it’s another $850-900. I think it’s a nice little package if you want more than a basic looking truck. But that’s just my opinion. I’m sure others may think completely different.

I mean, I’m sure guys who go off-road and are around branches have stock flares and they don’t get ripped off. Some like them and some don’t. No big deal. It’s not that serious of a thing. For some it’s a nice package that separates it from a base looking tacoma.

I paid $700 for the SX package back in Dec 2019 for my 2020 SX. That got me the best looking OEM Tacoma wheels, color match bumper, black out mirrors, black door handles and black overfenders. The wheels alone were worth the $700.

Life would be pretty boring if we were all the same. :) Only got the SX package because I really don’t need a TRD, but wanted the flares. Kinda like the SX wheels too, which I was going to buy anyways if I didn’t do the SX. The package just made easier than combing here, FB Market Place or CL.

My old Tacoma had them, I like them…looks too bare to me otherwise. It’s Mag Gray with black accents, still pretty stealth. I see that they are bringing back Blue Crush Metallic on the 22s with the SR5 and up trim, like that color better than MGM. Was going to wait for that, but my wife would of killed me if I did that. Had the last one for 19 years and 434K miles, she was getting tired of me fixing it. She has been working on me for awhile buying a new truck.

I know I’m dreaming but we need the SX to come to the DCSB. And black out those headlights while you’re at it.

Yep, was going buy flares and some take off wheels anyways. Was cheaper to get the SX package, and I don’t have to fuss with installing them. My old truck was breaking down ever other month, tired of working on it. Just want to get in and go. Even going to let the dealer do my oil changes, have been driving for damn near 40 years, first time ever going to let someone else change the oil.

Toyota's been sticking on flares for as long as I can remember. I just don't like "stick ons." The tires look less like "innies" without the flares too. I prefer the clean look myself. To each his own. I bought my son a 4-runner that's now 14 years old...still has the stick on flares. It is what it is.

I've never accused Toyota of being good at styling. In fact I think they are the WORST. Honda, Mazda, Kia, Hyuddai out-do Toyota across the board. I think people buy Toyotas in SPITE of their styling. Most of them are absolutely horrendous, with fake exhaust tips, and fake vents and fake grilles (Camry guilty of all three). The new Sienna looked OK until they did THIS:

It wasn't enough to have one grille. It needed that lower, "camry" grille. The new Tundra is hopeless and I imagine the Tacoma will follow suit.

This literally makes me want to smack a toyota designer in the face. It speaks volumes about their low opinion of American tastes. "THEY WANT MEAN!!! THEY WANT AGGRESSIVE!!! THEY WANT MOOOOOOAAR GRIIIILLLEE!!

Yeah, I’m the total opposite, I think Toyota has great styling. I think their style is years ahead and other manufacturers are playing catch-up and that’s why it looks out of place sometimes. I think the flares look great, especially with a wheel that has an offset that sits them flush with the fender flare. I think Japanese style is light years ahead of American style for cars and glad they’re finally incorporating it on our vehicles.

Yeah the wheels, Flares and even the SR5 headlamps made it worth it to spend the $540 to get the SX.

I was asking about the bedside decals because I am gonna see if it's possible to put them over the TRD Pro-style bedside graphics. It's not a look for everyone, but I kinda wanted to add some visual flair to my truck.
