    Mind you, he lost it to Tua in the national championship. I'd say Hurts is better than Tua today, but agree, has always been just an OK qb.

    I'm probably going to get flamed for this but if you really take a second to think about it it makes sense...

    All Alabama players individually are typically just all right. It's when you put them all together with the coaching of Nick Saban that makes him stand out as star players. Especially at the QB position. Name one in the Saban era that was epic in college then lit it up on an NFL field.

    The only exception to this rule seems to be at the position of running back.

    I'd have to do some research, but O and D lineman, as well as reciever, are also exception to that thought. So mainly Alabama just has system QBs under Saban lol.

    The problem with going pro is that elite college talent gets drowned in poor first rnd pick NFL teams. They're stuck there grinding it out and getting beat up for 5 years, then when it's time to move on, they aren't what they once were.

    Just my thought / opinion. There's a reason 1st rnd picks decide to stay at school their senior year last minute (ahem, Jets, Jax, NYG).
