So I’ve been pouring water on the parking space under my truck. They’ll hit someone without a puddle first, no? I guess I’ll weld something up when I get bored, or help keep the Cat Shield Bros in business.

Maybe poop under your truck when you park it? What does the AG say about that, @GuacIsExtra ?

Biological warfare is frowned upon by the Geneva Suggestions.

I wanted pics of the claymore mount but please don't post pics of your stool sample, thanks.

There are 4 catalytic converters on the 3rd gen v6s. The rear two are prone to get stolen because you can reach them more easily. The other two are basically up on the headers. By running a y-pipe it creates a more free-flowing exhaust and doesn't cause any harm or throw any codes. It may get a slight growl/rasp if you're running a catback, but with the stock muffler you probably won't even notice. It also reroutes the exhaust so it isn't running under the truck frame.

The install is pretty straight forward and if anyone needs info feel free to reach out. I ran one of these on my 4runner and Tacoma.

That's basically what it took to get the manufacturers to make car stereos harder to steal. Even back before cars had 'Infotainment Systems' (say around the mid 2000's) factory car stereo's were becoming more a part of the dashboard and/or required a special code in order to unlock them if they were removed from the vehicle. I would be in support of the Feds putting pressure on car companies to make these harder to access. Really all it would take is some extra shielding and odd fasteners.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
It would be cheaper and more effective to declare "open season" on theiving tweakers.

Just FYI, official notice that the cat shield does fit properly if you have an OEM skid plate installed:

    peter@getcatsecurity.com Mon, Oct 11 2021
    Hi,
Yes, the shield will work with the TRD skid plate. We made it to work as if this addition came with your Tacoma from the factory.
Any further questions please let us know.
    Thank you,
    Peter

Does your shield fit a a 2019 Toyota Tacoma that has the OEM Toyota skid plate installed? Please don't guess, I need to know for sure that it fits prior to ordering one of your shields.
    Thank you.

They don't snort the CAT.

They sell it for scrap, then use the cash to buy their high.

I assume if you are having the dealer perform service you will want to remove it before service and reinstall afterwards since that video mentioned specific torque specs and service techs will always use an impact wrench

Well, they won't survive long. To my knowledge, all the chemicals in the CAT are known cancer causing agents.

Its a weird spot to be in and a lot of its don't ask don't tell. I work in a business that deals in used things and have definitely had stolen stuff come in. Most of the time when its obvious we just don't take the items because its super beat up or missing all of the stuff we need and we just low ball to the point they take it back. If it isn't as obvious its hard to call someone out for selling stolen goods. You will always find someone who will take it, just a matter of for how much. I think about a few years ago when people were ripping copper out of new homes, think thats even more obvious than cats. At least most people have cars and those have cats. Most people aren't walking around with a house full of copper.

Installed, didn't drill the extra holes. Loctite they provide is good stuff. Just wish there was a little more.

Note to those with the skid plate. Only assemble one side plate until the bolt and plate are secured in the front otherwise you can't get to it. Install side plate and brace and done.

Where I have to park in an alley it's perfect for someone to get under my truck. I've already run off a a couple teams that were trying door handles and trying to open my tailgate at 2am. Is there any advantage to a skid plate over one of these? Looks like the cat protectors give more protection to the sides than skid plates.
