    You need a car if your job relies on it. When I was working for myself, if I didn’t have transportation, I didn’t get paid.
    Also, using an Uber to get to work for me would cost more a month than my truck payment (I just checked, $815 a month to Uber to work, not including tips). I live in the Midwest, a motorcycle or a bike would be bad in the winter months.

    Funny thing about vehicle values, I have a 2018 Chevy Cruze I am selling to Carvana as soon as it gets back from GM (they're replacing the engine under warranty). I'm getting $17K for it. I paid $21 for it November of 2017. For shits-n-giggles, I put my Tacoma into their system to see what they would give me for it (2021 OR DCSB with 1200 miles) and was surprised to see that I could sell it to them right now and make money off the deal.

    I've had the truck for 3 weeks.

    If this keeps up, my truck will be worth approximately $42,000,000 in 5 years.

    I am planning my retirement based on this.
