There’s a finer layer of filler applied after bondo called glazing putty you could use.

Well well well. Stuck bushings met their doom. Uncle with a torch and an air hammer and we had them out in half an hour. Nice.

Hmmm I am not familiar. I'll check it out

If this were an ordinary shit box I'd have just sprayed it with good old black Rust-Oleum already

    That is nice

Air chisel is super duper tool, honestly a great reason to justify a compressor purchase lol

From what I believe it’s used to fill in the finest scratches before primer. @Blue92 is more qualified to answer about body work than me I’d say haha

When I was visiting Zäne, he burned the Toyota Pickup bushings out with a torch and made the most awful looking and smelling smoke ever. They burn easy though, I was surprised.

Yeah I really need a bigger compressor to run one. my scrappy little hotdog compressor just doesn’t flow enough.

edit: uncles shop has a compressor the size of my taco

How did you end up separating the inner metal sleeve from the rubber of the bushing? Hole saw? Torch? Other?

Torch. Initial plan was to make the inner metal sleeve bigger so we could get a sawzall in there to cut a groove in the outer metal sleeve. Did that on 2 and it worked. The we tried air hammer on outer metal sleeve without using the sawzall to cut a groove and that also worked.

Key seemed to be 30 - 45 seconds of air hammering:laughing:

I searched this morning for my touch up paint and couldn't find it... After running to the Ford dealership and Napa I remember where it was on the way home. It claims to be paint and primer in one so I might just yolo it. I really wish the door would have been replaced instead of bondo'd after I hit the deer. A regular ding would be less frustrating. Can't really tell in photos but it's like 3/32nd deep :(
