How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

Factory ordered on July 13th and picked up October 5th! WCP Sport 6MT

 

Don’t get me wrong, this could be a very fortunate turn of events for you. However, I would be concerned that something is different in the one traded for. It it is an upgrade fine, but I wouldn’t want to lose out on something I wanted. In my case, my build was pretty specific, so if it was traded away I would have freaked.

 

Oh absolutely. He sent me the spec sheet for the new one and it’s exactly the same as the one I ordered, but with side steps. I needed to add steps anyway so my kid can get in and out of the truck, so no biggie. I’ve already got plans for replacing them with proper sliders once the kid gets big enough. We’re about to drive across the country in 6 months, so the big stuff is going to have to wait.
EXCEPT THE SUPERCHARGER!!

I had read on the Toyota press release that they intended to ship the trucks from Veracruz or Puerto Vallarta. I tried to do a little digging as well, but nothing certain came up. I know Maersk runs up and down everywhere, but there wasn’t anything that specifically pointed to them.

 

Mine is probably with yours. I'm buying in East TN and was told Oct 15th - 20th as well

Heard from my dealer today, projected delivery Nov 10th. Basically 2 months (if it holds) on a standard build.

How are you seeing the build date? Toyota VIN site just shows order date for me.

 

The dealer has access to the build date. Give your salesman a call and ask him.

 

What are the two numbers in front of the letter on the last six of your temporary VIN?
(ie: ************43A675) The 43 would represent the week of production which would be the 43rd week of the year. Sometimes they get pushed back as mine did. Call and ask your dealer for an update of build day.

 

When did you put in your order?

 

Not exactly an “order” - I’d committed to an inbound ‘21 DCSB SR5, but before it landed I realized it wasn’t what I wanted. September 1st I told the dealership what I really wanted and picked it up last Saturday 10/9. They were able to get an inbound DCSB OR 6MT diverted from another dealer, and it just happened to be the same truck I’d inquired about AT that other dealer, but had been quoted 6k over MSRP on. Was able to purchase at $100 over invoice, got 600 over what I paid for the SR5 on trade w less than 500 miles on it. They got a nice trade to sell, I got the truck I wanted.

I texted my dealer yesterday and he said my truck should be here next week. Then I just need to wait for them to install the Trd lift kit, power tailgate lock and Trd exhaust. I was relieved because the 2 previous times I texted him he moved the delivery date lol
Nothing to do with here but I also put down a deposit on a 2022 Tundra Trd Pro, subject to test drive.

 

The Toyota finance guy, guy who takes the cash left me a message tonight.
My Barcelona red DCSB Mt has arrived at the dealership today. He said it will be ready Monday as they need to install my lift kit, suspension etc. Only a few more days !
