Never been to Cali as an adult but really want to explore that state.

We are going to ALASKA!! early april. It was buy one get one free plane tickets! Going to see the northern lights in Fairbanks and a whale watching tour in Seward and maybe deep sea fishing while in Anchorage. Quick trip to South Carolina for a family wedding possibly doing some off roading in Blue Ridge but nothing planned yet. Moab and Colorado in May/June!!! I want to go to an event to the west side of Michigan to the sand dunes for a taco take over or something like that. Hopefully some camping in the summer.

What did you do in Fairbanks? What time of year were you there and did you see the northern lights? That is our goal for Fairbanks. You should totally come to Michigan this summer! We could plan something in the UP. I love it there and there are other taco owners up there or like to go up there off roading. There is a Dunes event in August that sounds fun.

    Hi Beth

We didn't do the Northern Lights when we went last. We have done Northern Lights previously in AK that time we went in March. When I lived in Boston - there were cheap tickets to Iceland/Greenland, we did the northern lights there as well. Our last AK trip, we were there for 3 weeks in July. We loved Seward, our favorite part of the trip. We went out to Fox Island, and literally whale was next to us in the glacier bottom for about 30 minutes. Never saw it so close. AMAZING. We have done deep sea fishing out in Boston/Rhode Island, so we didn't do it here. We had a great time in Anchroage and Denali. In Anchorage, we went to Creamers, we did the Ice Museums, Mckinley and pioneer park.

I have lived in Ann Arbor for 4 years (back in the 90s), and really wanted to do a summer trip through MN, MI, WI, OH, and end up in Raleigh to see family. We planned it last year, but due to Covid, we ended up traveling up to Montana and didn't go east coast.

Would love to do it this year, if we can. My work really picks up in October, so Oct-Feb I am slammed, and have easier time rest of the year.

Sounds like an awesome vacation! I hope we see whales, that would really make the trip. Let me know if you end up planning to come out to Mi this year. There is a Mi thread on this forum you can hit up as well.

Hey ladies! Here's my taco. No mechanical mods, but a lot of cosmetic ones. I do some light off roading, and my stock SR5 takes me where I want to go!

I did MOAB and White Rim trail last year in my FJC - was fantastic!

Let me check out the link

I was really hoping to do UP MI and MN and drive down to SC/NC, but not sure if its happening this summer.

If not, thinking of flying into NC, and driving all the way down to the keyes

If you ladies are planning an off-road in Michigan, truck camping trip I can share some dispersed camping spots accessable by truck if interested. They are all in northern lower peninsula and the UP. The wife and I have done trips around Michigan the last 3 years or so about twice a year. Most of the spots require some moderate to technical off road driving with good chance for brush and branches to cause scratches, but I can probably find a couple spots that are easy to access but still remote. DM me if interested, I don't want to post the locations publicly.

Oooh I'm glad to have found this thread! Don't have many mods yet, but I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of an Ironman4x4 foam cell pro lift kit and then plan to do a CMC and put some 285/70/17s on.

Currently have: seat jackers, LED interior lights, and a dog platform in the back of the cab. When lumber prices stop being ridiculous I'll probably remake the platform. It was not my best work since I was rushing to do it the day I left for Moab and I made it with MDF for cost savings.
