I forget about this every year.

I'm moving into trainer season so I'll watch the replays later on the bike while doing something far more boring.

Watching the re-run with friends tonight, just need to avoid spoilers for a few hours. Guess I'll stay out of this thread all afternoon :D

Side note - has anyone else here been to Zion National Park and seen the little grocery store in Springdale with all the mountain bikes and Rampage memorabilia on the walls? I can't remember the name of the store off the top of my head, but every time I go to Vegas I carve out a day for Zion, and I always stop in that grocery store while I'm there.

No worries, man! I've seen Brage's wipeout from 10 different angles on Instagram already. Happy Rampage Day!

Anybody ever ride a Whyte MTB? I'm in Europe and everytime I see a bike for sale near me I think I need a euro MTB.

I've had 4 Pivot bikes...Mach 5.5, old gen Switchblade, Trail 429 and Firebird 29. All have the "dreaded" press-fit BB and I have never had a single issue at all. My experience with Pivot bikes is nothing but quality and great performance. Zero complaints.

Spent the afternoon planning out a loop on my property. My wife cut a walking trail that I'll connect to but the loop I have planned will be just over a mile (1.7km) and should be a bit more fun. The property is in a bit of a depression and there's a bit of elevation along the river too. There are some monster trees that have fallen down that I can build into some features. Pretty pumped.

Found some sort of bear trap type thing out there. Last time I explored I found a 1950-something Oldsmobile with tags from 1963.

Did you epoxy coat your garage floor yourself? Been seeing those kits Rustoleum makes and debating to try one in my garage.

Nice bike btw! Congrats and enjoy!

I love those old oxbow lakes on your property! Wish I had some property like that!

We are extremely fortunate to end up with this bit of land.

The oxbow is cool. Previous owners had a small bridge over it I can use where it has water. On the dry side the deer have a path they've been using that I'll follow.

The river even has a cool almost hundred year old train bridge....I'll incorporate that into my XC ski loop.

Me and some buds used it to film a promotional CX video a few weeks back

Most versatile tool in my opinion. Get one with tines on the back like a McLeod, to clear brush/leaves and you can do a lot. Add a flat shovel and you’re good. Of course that may vary with local conditions.

I read they are not as tough as the standard McLeods. I just don’t want to pay $35 for shipping.

Well shit....while out cutting the first feet of trails I grabbed a hold of an old tree to pull myself up a steep hill. The branch snapped off and I fell and broke two ribs.

Can't believe I got hurt and a bike wasn't directly involved.

Looks like it will be spring before I can get these things built.

Damn man! I always hurt myself when I am least focused. You hurt yourself more than people who crashed out of Rampage! I hope you have a speedy recovery.

A decade as an ironworker. Two decades racing bikes. No serious injuries. Then I hurt myself falling down a hill.

Reminds me of a good friend who ran the Boston marathon during the bombing, made it through, then nearly died because a blister on his foot became infected. Ha.

Such a bummer time. I've been busy all summer and was really looking forward to some fun stuff and a ton of riding this fall before the snow comes. Dang.
