Did you find a how to on that or just make it up as you go? This is something I gotta do soon too and those spring compressors do look sketchy.

Did you have to loosen the alignment cams?

I tried that method once and gave up because the spring was still preloaded with the arm at full droop. I think it would have been fine with cams loosened, but I didn't want to mess with the cams at the time.

Check all of your neutral connections at the bus bar in the panel and on the outlets. Loose neutrals can cause inconsistent voltage readings.

Also, get that dryer on its own breaker asap. Double tapping a breaker is a no-no. You get a home inspection? If so, the inspector should have written up a double tapped breaker.

The bushings still being tight inhibits their ability to pivot

So yes loosen the cams if you want to do this

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
Big wheeling weekend. Lots of water crossings and rocks.

The 80 series stopped running. No spark or fire. We think it might be the fusible link.

Yup. I felt like a genius after reading all these salty 1st gen owners saying the method wouldn’t work for our trucks. Even worked with my sketchy spacer pucks. My spring compressors (made for MacPherson struts) wouldn’t fit between the coils to compress them. So this was my only option.
Watched a video for 2nd gens and determined it didn’t make sense for our application. So made it up as I went. Alignment cams were hand tight which is fine since my control arms were off to begin with. This method may not be successful with a really long coilover. Would be hard to get a good point for the jack with the arms at such an angle.

Well, I finally got around to installing the Softopper I bought a while back. The white canvas looks great with the Surfside Green paint, except... it doesn't fit. It's about 6", maybe even 8" too narrow. This thing must have been made for a Stepside truck.
