There are a lot people like to personalize their rigs, start with a base and go from there. The upper trims have too many features for me, even the base SR has more options than I’ll ever use. I like basic, can’t get a no frills basic truck anymore though.

Told the dealer doesn’t matter if it was a plain SR or the SX package, whatever they could get first.

If it was the plain SR, going to mount snow tires on the steelies, then buy alloys come spring for my summer tires.
A SX came in first, so bought some steelies for my snow tires instead.

Like the look of with flares or without, though leaned more for the flares since I drive an awful lot of gravel roads, figured those coupled with splash guards would save the paint, at least for a little while.

i thought the big deal with the SX package was not wheels or lights, but that you could finally get an SR with the 2GR V6 (if you’re into that sort of thing).

I thought so, too, but then I come to find out that Convenience Package SR's seem to be available with the V6 now, as well. (Utility Package is still I4 only).

But for a hot minute there, yes, it was the cheapest way to get a V6 Access Cab.

Double Cab 4x4 SR's were, previously ('16-'18), the only way to get a V6 in the SR.

SX's are available only in Access Cab, but can be had with the I4 or V6 and in RWD or 4WD.

Could get the V6 with either or when I ordered mine. Initially wanted the I4, my wife talked be out of it since it would suffer loaded down for my dirt bike trips.

Wish they offered the utility package with the V6, have no need for the rear jump seats. Plan on removing all of that and building a platform.

Been a while since I've been on here. I pulled an SR swap last week. I was skeptical but since prices for used ones are so high I threw out a feeler ad for my 2018 SR DC on Wednesday, got a nearly full price $35k offer from a Nissan dealer on Thursday, I found and an in-stock 2022 SR DC 3 hours away and they held it for me with just my debit card number and no actual deposit also on Thursday, the Nissan dealer sent two drivers 3 hours to pick up my 2018 from me (thought that was crazy) on Friday and I drove 3 hours on Sunday and picked up the new truck for $37,750 OTD including taxes, reg and everything. Crazy deal. It cost me $2,700 to upgrade from my 2018 SR DC with 50,400 to a 2022 SR DC with 3 miles! This weird market may never happen again to pull that off.

The new one is nice. On my long drive home, I got to really feel out the transmission. My 2018 was well....... like most 2018s. The new one is perfect, shifts like a normal truck, holds gears, doesn't hunt and shifts very smoothly. It's nice that the new one finally comes with a better head unit, auto low beams, intermittent wiper switch, etc. I sold the 2018 with some Craigslist TRD OR wheels and kept my set of 17" 4Runner Pro wheels that were on the 2018. The only thing I'm unsure about the new one is that it seems to ride stiffer. The tire psi was too high and I lowered it then took it out but it was late and I was too exhausted to even tell if there was a difference. An issue for another day and it won't matter if I lift it anyways. All in all, a crazy swap IMO!

There is a reason they sell extended warranties... (you guessed it) to make money..... YOUR money. Sure there's the odd case where it pays off but that's probably unlikely... jm2cw...

It’s been a while since I’ve posted to the base model thread. Here she is before the next round of surgery!

I'd love to see the paperwork on this. I'd like to see the trade for $2,700 in writing. Doesn't seem legit to me.

I have a 2018 trd off road with 50k and am looking to trade for a 22 sr5. I wonder how much the dealer is going to pay me. Ha!
