Damaged it! Not me per se - but I was rear ended waiting for a protected left turn. Of course, the other driver had no proof of insurance and no current license - good times. Thankfully it was low speed and no one was injured. I have it recorded on my dash cam and at first glance the truck looks “fine.” However, a closer look reveals damage to all three of the OEM bumper pieces. Going to have to take it to the shop and get it checked out.

My son-in-law & I were working on the Taco today. We did the OEM tailgate lock and Matt Gecko bed lights plus ran power to the bed so I can add a 12v Blue Seas System power center.

While he was under the truck he found the following tool jammed in between 2 leafs of the drivers side leaf springs!!! How in the hell could that happen? I’ve only had the truck a few months. This is the first time under the vehicle. Surely, someone must’ve realized they misplaced their “pick” tool!!

    Unbelievable!!!!

The damage isn’t very visible but I looked under the bumper and there are some cracks in the bumper cover pieces and indents in the center black piece. I am going to look in to my uninsured motorist coverage; I hope I am not on the receiving end here. I’m glad today I decided to leave a half an hour early for the kids soccer game, otherwise he would’ve been late.

    Yeah
Rock lights, I ran them on thir own relay triggered off the bed light switch circuit. Added a GM/Delphi 2 relay weather sealed box (2nd relay not yet wired but is planned out for some other cool shit) and those $26 Amazon rock lights I heard about here.

The box is just zip tied there to the clutch rez for now, I forgot to buy the mount for the box so that's coming along with more wire and parts for that other mod I mentioned. All electronic parts and wire from Ballenger Motorsports!

So I know whos that tool is. The tech that did you fuel pump recall stuffed it into the leaf for "storage" while he was putting the tank back up and forgot to get it back out. That long hook is perfect for removing the clips that hold the fuel lines onto the pump when they drop the tank.

really? Mine are very bright and my map lights definitely don’t flash. Make sure your dome light is in all the way.

I sold the fiberglass cap and I feel a bit naked (close to 3 yrs since I’ve seen the bed rails). Washed it before seller arrived and helped the guy install and wired him up. Had to remove the stuff in the bed (bags/cases) until I get the smartcap installed. Unfortunately had some roof panel damage in transit and it’s waiting to be picked up so the replacement can be processed and sent out. Went from 2 caps to none just like that. Called my SA to schedule the 3rd brake service campaign next Saturday while I’m topless.

next day I took my da and some compound to the rear window to tackle the horrendous water spots. Will put on some c4 to the trim and the turtle wax/hybrid ceramic spray on the glass tomorrow. I pulled the header rail and front header to visualize the tonneau plugs (have had for over 2 yrs but wasn’t going to remove the cap for just this). When I put on the fiberglass cap it came with square foam pads for the header but likely have to remove for the plugs. Marked out the cut line and heard some unpleasant noises on side bed rail cap removal. 1st night to drop 10-20 degrees so I stopped and will wait till tomorrow when it heats up hopefully. I’m not a hardcore leak inspector, I didn’t care before and won’t here either but since I had the plugs and it fills that spot nicely that’s about all I’ll do (no goop, no silicone, no butyl/putty for me).

A minor lift was the last of a list of things I wanted to do. Not sure what's next other than driving everywhere and enjoying myself

$3.15 is the average here in the FL panhandle but I manage to get just under $3 at SAMs or on base when I go to work
